I tried to start up the Pendulate vst 3 plugin ( Pendulate by Eventide - Synth Plugin VST3 Audio Unit AAX ) in the instrument slot where I had already opened up Solina2K (64).vst3 ( Solina2K by Fanan Team - Solina emulation Plugin VST VST3 ). Then Renoise crashed without a warning notice.

Hi there, I’m having possibly quite a noobish problem in Renoise 3.2.1. I have a sliced sample of a break that consists of 2 bars (8 beats) at 12 LPB. I have the beatsync value set to 96 lines and everything is fine when I playback the whole sample. However, after slicing the sample and clicking “Render slices to phrase” I always get a phrase that only lasts 1 bar, so that the whole 2 bar sample is effectively played twice as quickly. I see that expand seems to (almost) correct this, but I don’t think the offsets are calculated correctly as it sounds like there are gaps between the samples.

I’m sure it’s something obvious that I’ve missed but any help would be greatly appreciated!

The "KVR Developer Challenge" is for anyone who develops Audio Plug-ins or Applications and Soundware. The challenge is to create and release a brand new free audio plug-in, application or sound library / pack / set that will benefit the community at large.

Creativity is key, it can be as simple or as complex as you want - KVR members will vote on the entries and pick the eventual winner using whatever criteria they choose to.

Hey guys.

Since I’m going to be out of town in a couple of days i, I’m just focused on getting as much music just out the door before leaving. So i thought I’d finish up this file that i stopped working on last month or so.

My mouse up and died on me, so I’ve gotten a little more comfortable with really taking advantage of the keyboard shortcuts in Renoise. Honestly, i think it’s made me a little more efficient and faster when it comes to actual workflow in the program.

Since I’m just trying to get tracks out the door, I’ve really been trying to take to heart fast decision making, and really trying not to obsess over really small details and instead, focus on simply getting a tune out as fast as possible.

Just like with the other post i put up about a month ago, I’m sticking to 4 tracks only, I’m really starting to dig the limitation. It honestly feels like producing with rule has made working on a track more intuitive and simple, but in a good way.

As always, any feedback you feel like you’d want to share, feel free to, composition, mixing, a specific section, anything like that.

Description of the problem:

So, I’ve recently purchased and downloaded Renoise (last month I think). And it was working fine until it started to have bugs almost everytime I tried to used it (I have some screenshots here: Captura-de-Tela-195 — ImgBB, Captura-de-Tela-196 — ImgBB but overall there were so many bugs that I just gave up, anyways)
So I had enough and wanted to report about this new bug that won’t let me work, for some reason Renoise is presenting random freezes (example: 2021-06-29 16-53-59-1 in the video you can see it has nothing to do with a vst or cpu/ram consumption) it just freezes the grid, it doesn’t let me scroll/play/pause.

Steps to reproduce look like this:

I dont have a clue, it’s random, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t. I don’t think there’s a constant (not that I’m aware of), it just happens. A few minutes ago I tried opening and closening it 3 times to no avail (when I decided to record the video above). The other DAWs I work (Reaper and Live, use the same audio settings in every DAW) are working just fine. I’m on Windows 20H2 (if that matters). I’m going to reinstall it again (I’d made a clean reinstall when the bugs first started). I’m kinda disappointed since it prevents me from working but this is a bug report and I’m aware it’s besides the point so I apologize if I talked too much.

EDIT: restarted my pc and its working fine for now, didn’t have to go through the reinstall

Hi, Windows 10 Enterprise Edition… 10th gen Core i7, 16 megs ram, ssd… Renoise 3.3.2

Dragging VST3 effects to the track can be done, but it doesn’t seem to be smooth, and sometimes it doesn’t work, and I have to select the track in the mixer and double click on the effect

Hi there.

I have been trying to use Carla v2.3.0 VST on Renoise for windows (on Windows 10) but it seems it is not detecting it correctly. Instead of showing the different list of carla plugins in the list, it shows just the shell file (it uses a shell vst file system, similar to Waves plugins). If I try to load it it just crashes Renoise.

It shows and loads fine in any other DAW or VST host I have tried (for instance, Kushview Element or Waveform 9 and 11.5).

Carla by the way is a very interesting and useful open source plugin host with both rack and modular functionality. So it could be a really useful “addon” to use in combination with Renoise.

The thing is I have been reading here in the forum about people talking in relation to it working through wine in the linux version of Renoise.

So I would like to know if this is something that is not working only for me or is it something that needs to be fixed in Renoise for windows ?

Whilst not a dedicated renoise tip-app it is certainly HANDY for ALL TRACKERS…

I have found it a real handy app for REBIRTH…To keep track of blocks-progress…

It is a Text Editor for Musicians…There was a commercial & a freeware…

This is the freeware & actually has all that I need…

Hello,

I’m using Renoise with VST instruments. When editing, saving, replaying over and over again, at some point I can hear an extra tones, that are not in my song. It’s like you play a piano and somebody comes to you and press some key randomly while are you playing. It’s very annoying. After I stop playback, cancel record mode, and play song from the begging it’s gone. After some edits, it’s back again. It looks like a bug. How ever it is long term problem, so I’m wondering if anybody else experiencing the same issue. Could it be any problem with settings vs HW?

Hey Pals, i need your help without searching this forum, sry for that… but maybe the answer is really simple (btw, iam an old grumpy man - check deepsid/hje for example ) - bought some new hardware - so, the hardware has limited midi controls - especially speaking here for the td-3… so, how to record my live “playing” in renoise with the track i did for the td-3? Yes, i sampled that one, but thats not the same on another instrument… is this a limitation on reason? I use the Steinberg UR22 MK2/asio… so, do i have to “background” another programm to record the “live recording”?

Hi,
I want to try out DJ Swivel’s The Sauce but the UI goes all black when I use it in large projects (=using several GB’s of RAM). And it crashes Renoise, when I close the UI or release the plugin.

I think the mpReverb uses lots of delays to achieve a reverb tail… Maybe using less density, it could also be a really nice sounding smear and stereo spread device. Just a bunch of parameters might be missing then.

Please feel free to repost or delete your posts as you like.

Only the following rules for posters:

• Put your version(s) within one post using a embedded player (e.g. soundcloud)
• Shortly describe what you tried to achieve, for each version
• Short info which DAW, maybe what headphones and speakers, too

Rules for listeners:

• For listeners, be polite, formulate critics in a factual way, also add something what you like
• For listeners, also post your listening setup, speakers or headphones

Feel free to add any other info, of course. The more you add, the more interesting it might be to mixcheck your tunes. Only one version is ok, too.
