Hello,
Please see video:

The video shows me adding 2 different audio files, one after the other to the sampler.
The first audio file is short, the 2nd audio file is much longer.
Notice the first (shorter audio) render results in a phrase of length of 256 lines.
The 2nd render (longer audio) results in a phrase of length 32 lines.
Which is the opposite of what I would expect, that is the longer audio would get the greater resolution, not vice versa.

Any idea why this is?
Any way to configure the number of lines in the resulting phrase?
Lines per beat under Render slice options seems to have an inconsistent effect.

The inventor claim that these drywall screws reduce through the wall sound levels by 9 decibels, it’s not yet on the market though.

When I render a song where the cursor is stationed late in a pattern then a quick audible interpolation on automated parameters from that position to the first line of the song can be heard on the beginning of the rendered file.

Recreate it by setting up an effect that change the sound significantly like a distortion plugin from min to max in the automation editor. It can occasionally be hard to hear so keep trying maybe another effect as it happens with most if not all.
Play the song and stop playing when the distortion/effect is close to max, now wait a second and press play and you’ll hear a ~100ms transition that is happening, this in itself is not a big deal but the issue is this effect is being rendered which it obviously shouldn’t.

If you instead go to the first line of the song before rendering then it will be fine, so the question is why isn’t Renoise telling the render function to go to line 1 and set the initial settings properly before rendering it out?

So, I also like to use synthetic voices in my compositions, and over the years I’ve found singing synthesizers (a subset of text-to-speech synthesis). The best type are created by people recording their phonemes/consonants/etc. into music software like UTAU. We had a method of doing this via @satobox and Renoid. So, I wanted to find another way to do this without having to ask for vocal permissions, 'cuz I don’t want to ask permission, that’s why. Open/CC0, y’know?

I found an app that works on Windows and Mac (I use a Mac), and it’s called UTSU. Similar to UTAU and it runs on current Mac OSX.

Then, I went and found (by searching with the Internet) voicebanks that were created for UTAU and were free to use commercially and no permissions are necessary. I don’t care about the character images, because I’m not the character, so it doesn’t matter. I’m not using imagery, just the sounds.

I like to make the voice samples IN UTSU, and export them, so I can set them up in Renoise any way I like. It’s not hard, just tedious. If you read the directions by searching the Internet, you can too! Yeehaw.

Hello everyone, my name is Igor, and I am like probably many of you here use Renoise to create music. Was doing this for long long time now, but never managed to finish and complete my tracks (as it was just a hobby in the first place I was never concentrated on actually delivering something) until last year I decided to participate in one remix contest Since then I finally finished a couple of my old tracks and created new ones. Now I am happy to share them with you, people who also love Renoise like me. Tracks are mostly EDM, or just Electronic music, cause I don’t categorize them to very certain genre.
I would be glad if you can take a listen and appreciate your feedback.

I’m, I guess you’d say studying, demo songs to figure out the features and functions better and to see what’s possible with the program. I noticed that on the song
DemoSong - DBlue - Tension
There’s a quirk I don’t understand and was hoping you all might be so kind and let me know what’s up.
On instrument (dblue neuro bass) when clicking on the keyboard with the mouse in the Sampler Tab it makes a tapping noise mostly and sometimes plays the bass; this sounds cool, though when using the Keyboard with the keyboard it doesn’t do this. I don’t know why this is happening lol

I’m stupid please help.

I am trying to build up as large a set as possible of renoise projects where the author intended to make the project publicly available.

To that end:
The renoise song page mentions the sdcompo, however the link to sdcompo.com redirects me to a spam address - do you know where those songs ended up?

Also - do you know of any artists besides EatMe who have made their collection of renoise projects available online?

I’m really not trying to rip anyone off, and I totally understand reasons for not wanting to release the XRNS with the audio. However, I come from a (programming) community where people like it when other people use their open source software, so I’m making the same assumption here. Please feel free to tell me if its inappropriate

So, after creating that giant pile of online sample generators a while ago, I have one more to add - by the creator of WASFX is “WASGEN”, for all your old Yamaha OPL2-sounding FM/PM needs!

It’s beautiful - soft pianos, plucky guitars, and all so very ‘wrong’ because they’re created with FM/PM synthesis. Remember when you had your first MIDI program on your old Windows 95 computer? I do, and before I replaced the soundcard, this is what was built-in. So get out your favorite audio editor, and dump these dulcet tones into the Renoise sampler. Make your loop-points and tadaaaaaa! Now you’ve got the power of your old Yamaha soundcard.

This is something that happens with certain plugins and only in renoise
When the gui is shown of the plugin , the cpu ( in taskmanager )rises so high , renoise scope and keyboard (for playing ) becomes unresponsive etc…
Latest plugin is loomer string ( new version ) …it’s a light weight plugin that only takes about 5%cpu , but when the gui is shown taskmanager goes through the roof etc…
We should really get to the bottom of this

I think it’d be useful if there was an option to see Hexadecimal Numbers on one side and Decimal numbers on the other along the flanks of the Edit data columns.

I can upload a screenshot but I think it’s pretty self explanatory, and I think it’d be helpful, least to me being a noob and all.

Renoise 3.2.2 has a Bug with Plugin Isolation (Plugin Sandbox Option) and ANA 2. If Plugin Sandboxing is activated in Renoise, then Preset Change in ANA2 between Song playing is sluggish and make ANA2 freezing in short time. If Plugin Sandboxing is deactivated ANA 2 Preset Change works like a Charm.

Hey a few Redux questions.

First, is it possible to change highlight every xx lines like you can in Renoise?
I like working in a high LPB and being able to toggle how many lines gets highlighted makes this easier so I don’t have to count cells.

2nd, is there a way to chain phrases so one plays one after another like pages in renoise?

3rd if 2nd is not possible is there a way to drag and drop all my phrases on to the key map so they automatically drop note after note, as opposed to taking up a whole octave? Changing them down to 1 note size one by one is stupidly annoying and defeats the purpose of fast paced tracker workflow IMO.

Thanks, open to any work arounds yall might have as well.

Hello together!

I want beatsync an Vocal Audio track ( in Timestrechs mode), but the new max. Beatsync Value (512) is to low. I know that i had Values up to 999 in older Renoise Versions. 999 would be sufficient to do the job. Any Suggestions about the ugly limitation?

plz not say now… slice this autotrack 1 million pieces and Beatsync it part by part!

While trying the new virus hardware emulator + VirusHC frontend. The frontend is a controller vsti for the original Access Virus, sending midi cc and some special Access sysex data. Now it turns out that the hardware emulation VSTi does not seem to receive the Access sysex, even though I can see that in the Renoise midi monitor…

Steps to reproduce:

1. Install Hackintosh, macos Mojave 10.14.6
2. Download emulation VSTi for macos here ( DSP56300 Emulation Blog )
3. Create subdir in VST directory under /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST e.g. “DSP56300”
4. Place the downloaded VST into subdir, plus the romfiles
5. Install the demo of the VirusHC frontend VSTi
6. Rescan plugins
7. Now put VirusHC onto instr. slot 1 and emulator on slot 2
8. Set input in VirusHC to your midi keyboard and output to either Renoise-Midi-In or a IAC-driver midithru device that you have setup’ed in the midi/audio macos configuration
9. Now play some notes, turn the cutoff filter or so (midi cc). It should work. Now turn the mixer volume up/down, or change some post fx controls. Also watch midi monitor. You will see that sysex, which won’t received by the emulation vsti, obviously.
