I was using ElementFX VST3 plugin (somehow VST2 in this case works bad / crashes). And I saved some chains contains this plugin.

Now is funny part - I don’t see this plugin on list anymore! I see VST2 version only, BUT when I load chain with that plugin (VST3 version) - it works and it’s visible!

I was trying to rename file in Common Files\VST3 folder (or even duplicate it) but no luck there. Still VST3 version is missing for no reason (was visible before).

Hello.

When using Renoise 2.8 on a 2009 windows XP machine (dual core 2 GHz)
13 msec latency - no crackles
11 msec latency - crackles

When using Renoise 3.1+ on a 2021 windows 10 (latest) machine (12 core/6 core 3.5Ghz in Turbo, 2.9 Ghz normal)
under 30 msec latency - crackles

I only use 1 plugin and my MIDI keyboard.

I need under 20 msec response time.

I always use DirectSound and my onboard RealTek sound card.

Computer: windows 10 64bit, i7-7500U, 16gb ram

I’m using the vst2 version (for the most part unless there’s no vst2 version, vst2 usually works better for me), of unfiltered audio’s lion synth plugin which I got from plugin-alliance.com. Not sure if that makes a difference in this case but I only have a license for that one, not the one explicitly from unfiltered audio’s site since I got it on sale at plugin-alliance.

For whatever reason I keep having to click on the auto-scale gui compatibility option when using lion. It works 99% right if I don’t do that but… the modulation cables don’t line up properly in lion unless I use that option. I’ve checked it then cleared the plugin and loaded it back up, works right but even on a project I’ve saved it with I still have to set that option for it to go into effect.

So far this is the only plugin I have which I’ve had this issue with, I’ve had to use the option on other plugins but it would always be set and not act up. I don’t seem to have this issue with unfiltered audio’s BYOME, which I also purchased from plugin-alliance.

Hey guys. Long time no see. I’ve mostly been on musical hiatus recently, but since I hadn’t released some of my better newer tracks in an official capacity, thought I’d bung them all on an ep just for sake’s sake. Think I posted some of the tracks here when I’d first released them, not sure about all of them though. All tracked in the Renoise trickety tracker ofc.

If you set your samplerate to 44.1 khz in Renoise and play this 192 khz sample, you can hear some tones that shouldn’t be audible.
The sample contains just a 80 khz tone (inaudible), which on playback gets (aliased?) down into the audible range at around 8 khz.

This seems like a feaure unique to renoise
Lately I’ve been into making sysex editors in loomers architect (awesome modular midi program ) .
When loaded as a plugin in renoise , the midi out connection to my Roland integra is made IN architect (plugin ) only and not via renoise midi output and it works , it communicates directly to the hardware ( usb midi )
Somehow renoise is able to establish a connection .
I tried this in other hosts like reaper and cantabile , and there the connnection has to be from plugin (architect ) to host , and from host to midi out in order for the hardware to receive the sysex data .
Taktik , can you explain how this is possible ?
The roland integra vst 3 editor also does this , but there it communicates with the integra driver and that works in all program s

I was not looking for this bug, but wanted to render how small plugin can change chip sound and how to create some nice bass.

So inside ZIP you can find 2 files - xrns (of course) and “3rd bass” VST (if you don’t trust me as source - here is original source - link). First pattern is just chip sound without VST effect, second is with effect enabled.

And now - Renoise plays it proper. Then when you render in realtime - everything works. When you render in offline mode - Renosie hangs (when auto-suspend is enabled in plugin options) or generates silence when plugin is triggered to start (second pattern).

What is not typical in this example - I must change value of effect using envelope, because commands are limited and cannot be used for it.

I really want new Renoise version with better, fixed render.

Hello all,

I’d like to use the numerical keypad for navigation instead of the arrow keys, but it doesn’t look like navigation inside the disk browser is re-assignable like it is for other sections. Is there a hack or workaround that would enable me to assign navigation (up/down) to the keypad (Numpad8/Numpad2)? This might be better suited for the Tips and Tricks forum, but I’m also a complete beginner, so…

I’m currently using V3.2.2. Thanks for any help/suggestions!

I found something similar, but it’s been about six years since it’s been mentioned. It would be really neat to be able to have the notes/OFF/FX portions of the pattern editor screen to be able to be a different color, like when the cursor is over a note, how the colors switch. An option for those who want even more stuff to look at.

That being said, it may be visual over-stimulation. I just like grids
