Does the maYbe command work on the FX column?
I’d like to use probability on Midi CC messages.
Thanks

You have broken Renoise!
@sidwave wrote:
by making popup window with mixer and other stuff, that can be moved and resized, youve completely broken the easy way to work.
its just an annoying window, and you move it only , because its in the way of something,.
thats not how mixing works.
mixing is about listening with your ears, and make some analysis, what to change.
and use some time to think about it, then you change something on the mix, because you are sure what you want.
opening the mixer 100+ times and remaking something is the wrong way to mix
the window has now just become an annoying thing.
im saying, that with these new work process changes you made, its going the wrong way for renoise.
im not upgrading. i hope the crazy user interface people with all kinda “smart” ideas, get fired!

Can Redux be used in Standalone mode?
@Nikola wrote:
I’ve read through the manual, website, etc, and it appears the answer is “No”, but I wanted to double-check: Can Redux be used as a standalone application in Windows (I’d just like to play around with samples), and not as part of a DAW?
Many thanks!

Delay column for MIDI notes - FF delay is not short before next beat
@gresade wrote:
I’m on Linux with the Renoise 3.2 Demo.
When I record MIDI (ESI M8U XL) and the notes are short before the next bar, the delay is recorded as FF.
This is what should happen and while recording it also sounds as expected.
When it is played back from the recorded notes in Renoise, the delay is different though, a lot less then needed. So the notes with FF delay are not delayed enough to appear just before the next bar, they appear a lot earlier.
E.g. if I put a note with FF delay before a note in the next bar (without delay), they should be very close in time (approx. a 256th fraction of the time of one line to the next). But it is obviously a lot longer, more like half as needed.
I tried different settings but always got the same issue.
When reording MIDI it means that all notes being played a bit ahead in time will appear much to early in time. Or the other way around, I can not place MIDI notes to be a little ahead in time using the delay column. This is also happening if I type the notes in and do not record via MIDI.

Musicians, Producers and Mastering
@teis wrote:
ey …
I’ve been listening to demoscene (yes, Renoise belongs to the demoscene!!!) songs/music again.
and well … there are several well-talented dudes out there.
some being able doing it completely (writing AND producing songs or albums).
but some … are way off when it comes to mastering.
I really love hunz ‘all falls down’ song … but whenever I turn up the volume to the fullest, my ears start to bleed.
same happens to several other songs.
what do yall think?

[Effect Presets] tuned keytracked effects formulas/doofers Ktrk 1.1
@OopsIFly wrote:
As cannot be found elsewhere on this page, I decided to once again upload my tuned keytracked devices.
They are not just keytracked filters, but can be tuned to exact note frequencies with a keytracker. Many Renoise effects supported, not just the filters! Also there is bend control possible, and you can transpose or tune to harmonics by editing the parameters in the formula device text field (no need to scroll).
The library can be installed by drag’n’drop the file into a renoise window.
There are Doofer presets in the library, that contain pre-setup keytracker/formula/effect combinations. You will want to tweak the parameters of the keytracker, effect and maybe the text parameters of the formula to work with the effects.
Also the library contains the raw formula presets I have gathered so far.
I will in the following days look up my data and put up a table in here the devices each formula will work with. Sorry, can’t be bothered now, it’s been a while since I created them.

Fetching parameters from unloaded VST/AU plugin?
@esaruoho wrote:
Hi, how do I fetch the parameters from an unloaded VST/AU plugin. By this I mean, I have a song that is really old. The plugin no longer exists in that specific name. such as AU: Yohng’s W1.
I need the parameters from it, so I can use them with the newest George Yohng’s W1. I have no access to the old W1 component.
Can I access the parameters from inside of the .xrns file somehow, or…?
or from the console? or something?

Minimixer in the Instrument List
@helltrack wrote:
A minimixer in the instrument tab that let’s you quickly solo or mute instruments and adjust volume, pan and sends with mini rotary dials would be ace. Would be great so you could enter notes and do rough fine adjustments without always having to switch to the mixer panel.

How to run the same codebase (same scripts, but version API5, API6) between renoise 3.264bit and renoise3.132bit?
@esaruoho wrote:
I’m in the unenviable situation where I’d prefer to use my script on both Renoise3.1 (32bit) and Renoise3.2 (64bit) on macOS (while trying to figure out how to get a 32bit version of Renoise3.2)
There is no “actual” difference between the script, just APIv5 or APIv6.
I would prefer to continue editing the script on both versions. I’d prefer to just have the same script in the same folder for both of the apps. How would I accomplish this, please?

Air Race (future funk feat. Hatsune Miku)
@Fabrice wrote:
Hi! Here is a song I’ve just submitted for MIKU EXPO 2020 song contest (submitted just before deadline end! ). I used Hatsune Miku English trial version for this song.
Unfortunately I had a big lack of time to compose the song, so I made this really really quickly and I know it’s quite imperfect.
No time for mastering and wrote clumsy lyrics… But maybe the whole track is still presentable.

How to extract plugin parameters for a 32-bit audiounit and paste them into a 64bit VST with the same name?
@esaruoho wrote:
I just tried to do this: Copy parameters from a non-loading 32-bit AudioUnit (TAL-Dub III) to 64-bit VST (TAL-Dub-3) - in theory the same plugin.
Got this:
“Can not copy device settings from a ‘aumf:xg70:TOGU’ to a 'TAL-Dub-3”
What should I be doing. Is there some Console / Scripting method for extracting the settings from the non-loading 32bit AU, or…?

Mathematically come up with EQ frequencies for specific notes
@esaruoho wrote:
Let’s say I have a sample sampled at C-4. I play melodies with the white keys only, so CDEFGAB.
I would like to find out a way of mathematically going: “OK, these are the frequencies for each octave of CDEFGAB” - and boosting those frequencies with an EQ plugin (EQ8? FabFilter Pro-Q?). Or: alternatively, kill the frequencies that are C# D# F# G# A#.
How would I go about doing this kind of “cleaning up” frequencies of a sample?
I’m thinking “select the contents of a channel, press a key -> EQ8/Pro-Q boosts the frequencies I play at, and kills the frequencies I’m not playing at”.
Any ideas how to go about doing that?

How to replace a plugin but retain parameters?
@esaruoho wrote:
Regarding VST / AU Efx plugins, how would I be able to “Replace current plugin with…” so that the parameters are retained?
i’m coming into these issues where for instance AU: TAL Dub III Plugin is not somehow magically available, even though “it is there”. How would I go about doing this so that the settings / parameters are retained, it’s the same plugin, just a different name (or so it seems)…?

R3.2.1b1. Renoise.Song.API.lua: "shuffle" not is _obserbable?
@Raul wrote:
renoise.song().instruments[].phrases[].shuffle
I have verified that this line has been corrected in version 3.2.1b1 (changing shuffle_amount).
But shuffle is not _obserbable? It is strange when the rest of the characteristics of each phrase do have their observabable.
– Phrase autoseek settings.
renoisesong().instruments[].phrases[].autoseek, _observable
-> [boolean]
– Phrase local lines per beat setting. New phrases get initialized with
– the song’s current LPB setting. TPL can not be configured in phrases.
renoise.song().instruments[].phrases[].lpb, _observable
-> [number, 1-256]
– Shuffle groove amount for a phrase.
– 0.0 = no shuffle (off), 1.0 = full shuffle
renoise.song().instruments[].phrases[].shuffle
-> [number, 0-1]
– Column visibility.
renoise.song().instruments[].phrases[].instrument_column_visible, _observable
-> [boolean]
renoise.song().instruments[].phrases[].volume_column_visible, _observable
-> [boolean]
renoise.song().instruments[].phrases[].panning_column_visible, _observable
-> [boolean]
renoise.song().instruments[].phrases[].delay_column_visible, _observable
-> [boolean]
renoise.song().instruments[].phrases[].sample_effects_column_visible, _observable
-> [boolean]
…
Another question. Does this not exist (or equivalent)?
renoise.song().instruments[].phrases[].selected_line, _observable
renoise.song().instruments[].phrases[].selected_line_index, _observable
Could it be implemented?

Congrats to all devs!
@dspasic wrote:
Hi devs, maintainers, and all involved in renoise project,
i would like to thank you for your contribution to digital audio society and your excellent program “Renoise”.
For me it’s perfect compromise between daw and tracker. It could be improved of course (like anything could tho), but as it is, it’s really complex, and can be very pleasant to work while creating/experimenting in audio design, as well as in ordinary composition. The thing is that is cross-platform, include all necessary audio and signal processors required for professional outcome.
Thank you!
