I find it very convenient to set instrument macros via OSC using the paths in the form of /renoise/song/instrument/-1/macro1, and the 8 normal macros work with macro1-8 paths.

Is it possible in Renoise to set Pitchbend, Modulation, Channel Pressure macros via OSC as well?

I want to create instruments of the same length with different scales.
How can I do this?
I read through the sampler section of the manual but could not figure it out, perhaps because of my poor reading comprehension.

With renoise.song():render() an unwanted situation occurs. Forces the start of pos line number to be less than the end of pos line number. This restriction causes that it is not possible to render a single line pattern, because the number_of_lines of the pattern is 1 (pattern_length), which coincides with the minimum number, therefore it cannot be less.

The possible solution would be for the condition to be less than or equal to startpos.line and endpos.line.

Renoise’s “Render Song To Disk” does allow rendering in this case, with “Save each pattern into a separate file”. It seems to be an API issue.

hey guys, i just reinstalled windows and im trying to open a project i have saved on my hard drive, when i open it there is no sound at all, even when i try to preview samples there is no sound, all the mixer channels are on and when i start a brand new project the sound works no problem, any help?

update, seems changing every channel from master to primary sound driver makes it work, odd
not really a solution though because now the master channel has no control

I have a weird problem: I will be using redux without any issues when all of a sudden none of the drop down menus will drop down when I click them. I also am unable to right click anything. So I can’t destructively render a sample, duplicate a phrase, change the mod and fx sets etc etc. The problem goes away eventually but I have not found any specific action I can take to fix it, it ends as mysteriously as it begins. this happens almost every time I use the plug in, and it really messes up my flow. Anyone else had this happen? Anything I can do? I am using redux in reaper, on a dell laptop running windows 11.

Hello old and new friends, nice to see you still rocking with this amazing piece of software. Its been a while since i made some songs and shared with people so i decided to put together some of the stuff i´ve been working on and show it to you. This one is a bit noisy, a questionable mixing, also has some beatles samples and it´s constructed around some chops of an old brazilian singer called “isaura garcia” (heavily distorted of course), the song is entirely made in renoise. I intend to be more active from now on because i feel it is something thats lacking in my life and it used to bring me so much joy. hope you can enjoy it as it is. Anyway, im planning some more by the end of the week. hasta la future comrades!!!

everybody automatically thinks of that sick drum fill from in the air tonight

but I’ve been obsessed with mimicing the sound from this song [Robert Plant - In the Mood (Official Video) [HD REMASTERED] - YouTube] using Martblek almost drums tool.

It’s great, I love it.

such a rich and dynamic snare sound and the finality of the kick is inexorable.

Here is my attempt… I blended in some r8 samples into the snare, too.

any thoughts on setting up DSP chains that would react to velocity sensitivity? I suppose with gates?

Does anyone know if it’s possible to get something like this (link below) pressure sensitive gaming keyboard to integrate with Renoise? I’m a bit new to Renoise but this feels like a big deal to me (if possible) for minimalism sake + music making enjoyment. Maybe this is already discussed here but wasn’t able to find a topic.

Hi,

Is it anyone here that tried Ripchord in Renoise? I can’t get it to work (I’ve been looking in to other DAW’s and how they set it up), but Renoise differs from those DAW’s, and I can’t really figure it out. Do anyone know how you set it up to work in Renoise?

That’s a big sad and irony! after trying the demo i bought the plugin and it stopped working. plugins disappeared after scanning and even reinstallation did not help.

Using the shift key to enter FX values appears to work differently between local FX and master FX in a track.

For example, if I place the cursor in the master fx column and type Shift+G, then “g” is entered and the cursor moves to the right, so I can enter a value.

However, doing the same thing in the local fx column moves the cursor down, which means if I want to enter a value i need to press Up and right.

Is this expected behavior? Can it be customised?

Is there a way of the command “B00” not play the whole sample in reverse but a slice that I put in the Pattern Editor?

More specifically, if, for example, C404 is the 8th slice in total of 12 slices of a sample, when I put B00 in FX column, it plays the whole sample in reverse. Any ways of playing that slice specifically in reverse?

So I’ve managed to get a linux setup with yabridge doing a reaonably good job of letting me open my old windows projects. I’ve only wrapped a few VSTs to avoid overdoing things, and one thing I’m trying to figure out is whether there is a way to associate a native linux VST with the VST that was used in the windows project.

Specifically, I’ve installed (native linux) pianoteq, and when I open a project I get the “VST not found” message for the windows version of pianoteq. I tried installing the windows VST, but no luck, it just crashes. Of course I can replace the instrument, but that will destroy the preset settings, and break the project on windows. Not a big problem for pianoteq, but I can see this being an issue as I continue.

Anyone know of a solution for this? Is there a way to spoof a linux-to-linux bridged plugin?
