Please add VST3 support
@EnergyCrush wrote:
After using Renoise for 15+ years now, and VST3 support being needed for years now with zero response or understanding from Renoise devs, I’m done. With the release of Reason 11, and the incredible adoption not only of VST2.4 previously, but now VST3, I have zero reason to sit around waiting for Renoise devs. It just doesn’t make sense sitting around waiting for Renoise’s incredibly slow, if ever, responses to the community for this and other requests that have been highly desired for a great deal of time. What makes sense is a company that is showing it is dedicated to listening to it’s customers, and in moving forward to support them.

DocumentList and XML hierarchy?
@joule wrote:
Regarding renoise.Document:
Is it possible to use the save_as/load_from methods to load XML files with more than one depth? (example below). Since renoise.DocumentList don’t have those methods, maybe not?
I’ve also tried to construct the document by using a template table without success. And I’ve tried to load a manually made XML to no avail. I’m guessing that the only extra depth possible for lists is the one provided by ObservableBool/Number/StringList ?
I could workaround by starting to name the elements “Element1”, “Element2” et c, but wanted to check here first if it’s possible to achieve what I want.

Some Redux suggestions: Mixer, Drum Keyzone Mode, Drag out .wav Loop to DAW
@helltrack wrote:
Nerve from Xfer (Drum Machine Plugin) has this great feature where you can just quickly drag out a rendered version of you loop to the daw, would be a great feature for Redux patterns.
Would also be to have a simple 16 knob volume mixer (with pages if there are more samples) at the top (where also the Macros reside). If you use Redux / Sampler as a drum module it would be great to be able to set the volume relationships of the individual samples quickly this way.
Also maybe consider changing the Modulation section to a Modulation Mixer section, meaning that if a sample is set to “none” it wouldn’t sound at all if trigged, and if it’s set to multiple Modulation Sets it would sound multiple times (with individual pitch, volume, pan mod settings). This would be so great for doing pan, pitch, delay modulations on the right and left channel to widen and experiment on a single sample.
I also wouldn’t mind an additional GM Drum Pad Assign mode in Addition to the Keyzone Mode.

macOS Catalina Support
@ZeoS wrote:
Hi,
Running on macOS Mojave I’m having this pop–up
This is a bit unclear, I’m downloading the 64 bit version which is only available.
Will it work on new macOS Catalina which is coming in October?
Thanks!

Mac OSX 10.14.2 Mojave / App not optimized for this mac?
@luisaguirre wrote:
When I launch Renoise for the first time, I get a dialog saying, “This App Not Optimized for your Mac. Please update or have developer update…” Should I be concerned about this?
I’m running Mac OSX 10.14.2 Mojave. Also should I avoid updating to the upcoming OSX software? I don’t want to lose the ability to use Renoise by updating. Thanks in advance for your help.

Beat slicing beatsync
@PrinzNika wrote:
So I am trying to Slice a drum loop for examples sake an amen. I want to sync it to the songs bpm so I activate the beatsync checkbox. I also disable the button above the waveform that would stop the samples from playing as they reach the next slice marker.
now I tap in some notes but the new slices arent beatsynced so I go to the sampler to check their boxes, however their duration is defaulted to last 16 pattern lines no matter where they are cut. I cant possibly manually think about how long the new slices are.
So how do I easily sync the new slices? it must be so obvious
I know I can use the slice sample command but, how can i trigger the sample at the right speed?

Generative amen break, randomize playing in sequence
@munidog wrote:
In live performance with Renoise.
I want to play auto generative amen break in loop sequence track.
Now I made with “0YXX” command and “0SXX” command.(example xrni file is here)
Dropbox
Gen_Amen_test.xrni
Shared with Dropbox
But it isn’t complexity and not cool.
I hope more glitchy sound (maybe retriger commands?) and more variation of loop without midi or some controll signals.
But I have no idea…
Does somebody have any ideas?

LFO-driven Note Delay
@Neuro_No_Neuro wrote:
So, after listening to countless generative patterns via other sequencers, one thing that’s caught my ear that I cannot seem to do in Renoise is to modulate the delay time for a note to start.
We can set a delay time in the pattern sequencer, which is really great for note strumming and other bits of slop that we want to emulate, like drumming swing/shuffle. But, I have not found a way to set an LFO to modulate that delay time, nor have I found a way to automate it either.
In my head I have this idea of a swinging wind-chime, like the one you may or may not have in the backyard. Depending on the wind’s speed, the chiming may speed up or slow down. I’d love to be able to modulate that sort of effect. I tried it with the PDC Delay Test device, because I thought that introducing latency might make up for it, but it either causes intense bit-reduction on sloped LFO waveforms, and on squared off LFO waveforms, it just becomes a glitchy on/off effect. Cool for glitch/granular effects, but not what I’m looking to do.
Any other ideas that maybe I’ve missed?
