Break sample playback position
Is it possible to play back different breaks at the position the last on left off at?
ideally in a quick way to test different breaks together.

Renoise is a Guitar Rig
Line-In + Cabinet-Simulator … + Chorus / Reverb for a basic starting setup, however:
If you have an Audio to Midi converter like Sonuus G2M for example - make a guitar synth hybrid:
Guitar Key tracking AM Modulator.xrni (3.5 KB)
Required:
*Audio to Midi to Note interface - like SONUUS G2M!
*Guitar, Bass or other instrument… or voice
*Midi and Line-In ports
The Notes from Midi adjust the AM Modulators Note value - the guitar signals amplitude is modulated with the same frequency as it’s note - sounds like an FM Synth.
/Tested on electric guitar.

Laxity - Live at Stage 9 (Edit)
I just edited legendary XM called Laxity’s Live at Stage 9 from Maniacs of Noise.
Once again, I felt that Renoise audio routing was amazing. so powerful.
Laxity - Live at Stage 9 (Edit)
I was really influenced by the mod scene in those days.
Since ModPlug became able to handle 44.1k, 16bit WAVs, I felt the possibilities
so much that I sold all the hardware instruments I had at the time.
XRNS is here:

About menu bar position on macOS
It may be trivial, but is it possible to achieve this menu bar position displayed on Win and Linux even on Mac? Menu selection on macOS actually I leverages Many Tricks Menuwhere, so my point is I like the look more than the accessibility thing.

Looking for a way to reduce CPU usage
Hello, I’m working on a pretty big track with quite a lot of Kontakt instances going on.
My CPU usage is almost always hitting 95% with each playback, which is honestly pretty tiring to deal with.
Is there a way to freeze tracks, or make the performance better?

Unable to connect Midinous (standalone MIDI sequencer) to Renoise
Midinous is an standalone software MIDI sequencer.
I’m trying to use it with Renoise 3.4.1 on Windows 10.
Midinous creates a virtual MIDI device (or more specifically two of them, the second one is for optional master clock) that it sends the MIDI data through. As far as I know there is nothing non-standard about it and it seems to be sending the data correctly. I was able to make it work with Reaper, it controlled a VST instrument without issues or special settings.
I would like to use it with Renoise, but don’t know how.
I selected the Midinous devices as MIDI inputs in settings, loaded a VST instrument into instrument slot 00, selected it and tested that it plays sound within Renoise (using standard keyboard input), selected the main Midinous device as input in the instrument’s MIDI tab.
At this moment I expected the instrument to start receiving MIDI data (it was set to receive all channels), but nothing plays and no data turn up in the MIDI Monitor. I tried pressing play and enabling edit mode (thinking maybe it works as “record arm” in Reaper), but nothing happened. The MIDI control “lights” in the top right aren’t blinking either.
Since I don’t normally work with MIDI I have no idea if this is a bug or if I’m just doing some stupid mistake when setting it up. However, as mentioned above, doing pretty much the same thing in Reaper works and data is received correctly.
Could somebody help?
Here’s a screenshot of my Renoise window with settings opened, which should show what all the relevant settings are set to:

Recreating songs in renoise
is there a way to line up a song in renoise like you can in a DAW like FL studio to recreate the song piece by piece? when i used FL i used to put the song i wanted to learn from into the playlist and rebuild the song with my own samples to learn new styles of creating music, can this be done in renoise somehow?

Music LM (Google music generative AI)
Hey all, I just discovered this new product from google, currently in testing phase that is a prompt-based AI, (like chatGPT), generating some music.
I didn’t try it myself just saw a few examples here and there online and signed up to have an early access but didn’t get it yet.
I wanted to open this topic, first to ask if some of you already tried it, but also to open discussions on this subject, let it be related directly to this product, any kind of usage, what do you think of it, etc…
I may post some more about it myself once I would have tried it

Speed to lines per beat
Just a quick question,in the old speed system, what are the equivalents in lpb,for example speed 3 to lpb. Or is that a nonsense question?Speed 3 was 3 ticks per line i think? But im just wandering how it translates to lpb.

Song comment window with image and more
We have the option to show the song comment window after loading. Now I came up with the idea of implementing a cover photo, clickable links, social media icons and other images like a “small website” to provide information to the listener.

Business Plans: The Key to Building a Strong and Sustainable Business
Greetings to everybody.
I wanted to express my views on the value of business planning in creating a successful and long-lasting company. For entrepreneurs, a well-written business plan acts as a road map, directing them through the many phases of their endeavor. It aids in outlining their objectives, plans, and financial predictions, offering a clear path for achievement.
Professional Business Plans are essential for drawing in investors, obtaining money, and building reputation in the marketplace. Entrepreneurs may demonstrate their knowledge of the market, industry trends, and competitive environment through a thorough business plan.
A business plan also serves as a guide for making decisions, allowing entrepreneurs to weigh risks, spot opportunities, and adjust to shifting conditions. It offers a structure for monitoring development, establishing benchmarks, and determining success.
Entrepreneurs may take use of the experience and market understanding of professional business plan writers to develop a strong and persuasive strategy. These professionals are aware of the components needed for a strong business strategy, such as market research, financial forecasts, and competitive positioning.
professional business plans are essential for building a strong and sustainable business. They serve as a strategic tool that enables entrepreneurs to navigate challenges, attract investors, and achieve their long-term goals. Whether you’re starting a new venture or looking to refine your existing business, investing in a professional business plan is a worthwhile step towards success.
I would love to hear your thoughts and experiences with professional business plans. Please feel free to share your insights and ask any questions you may have.

No way to jump to next slice marker?
I know there are some old topics on this but I just want to make sure: There’s still no way to jump from one slice marker to the next?
This would be really helpful since Renoise and REDUX are (somewhat inexplicably) still very bad at setting markers by themselves. Zooming in and out and scrolling through a loop manually is extremely tedious and clicking on the sample on the sidebar brings up the isolated sample with the slice marker on the left screen margin, so it offers no way to adjust the slice marker backwards in the timeline.
If I could jump from one slice marker to the next, showing it centered on the screen that would shave literally 80% off my slicing time. Am I missing something of is there really no way to do this?

Colorable GUI blocks (besides buttons)?
Hey all, I’m working on a tool to give zoomed-out views of the struct of a song in renoise. (see below)
To acheive this I have a popup window where I redraw the tracks x patterns with their blocks.
my question is: am I missing some sort of vb:object that can be drawn in a grid and colored? — right now it seems that the only thing I can use to grid ‘images’ in the GUI (grids of colorable blocks) is buttons; textfields, aligners, etc all have their respective ‘styles’ but non can have their colors set directly like buttons.
I’d rather use something more low impact than a button, because I don’t need them to be buttons; just a display - would even be open to color text for an ASCII grid type display.
any thoughts?

Tuning drum kits
Hey! Does anyone know the typical tuning (I mean, like by scale degrees) of various drums?
E.g., iirc kick drums are typically the root note, and snares often the fifth but in not sure, and am curios as to things like hi hata etc… Is there any good guide out there or do folks here know?
