Hi all,

Problem with u-he diva plugin (last version) (AU, VST or VST3) on Mac os X 12.6.1 and renoise 3.4.2

• Open u-he diva plugin inside Renoise
• Click on a down arrow to open a pop-up menu in the plugin.
• Select an item in the pop-up menu
• Nothing happen (the selected item does nothing)

Tested with Repear Host and there’re no problem. Someone else can see this problem ?

Hi Everyone,

I’ve been finding it useful to write scripts for midi controllers that allow for two-way communication (for example, the ability to set LED state/color and Screen text via midi, controlling motorized faders etc).

Experimenting with different tactile devices and UI designs has opened up a lot of creative ideas for me in Renoise. So I’m looking for more info about devices that support this type of communication - sometimes it isn’t obvious what a particular device supports or documentation is hard to find. I thought others in the community may have their own recommendations. Below are the devices I have worked with, please help me grow this list!

I’m new to these forums, I created my first post yesterday in the General Discussion category. It was viewed a couple of times. I just came back from work and found that it was gone. I haven’t received any notification about why, either through the forums or via e-mail.

Why was the post deleted without any notification? If it didn’t belong in that category, why wasn’t it just moved to the correct category?

Hey folks. Well, after a long hiatus due to Real Life circumstances, I’m back to working on a project I started a few years back.

First, everything is running under Windows 10 Personal 64-bit. Got tired of trying to compile Sonic Pi on a Linux machine. What a nightmare!

I’m using Sonic Pi v.4.3.0 and Renoise v3.4.2 (registered). The problem I’m having seems simple on the surface. Any OSC message I send from Sonic Pi to Renoise that doesn’t have an integer as part of the message works. Anything with an integer is rejected .

An example as coded in Sonic Pi using its OSC server. Both Sonic Pi and Renoise are running on the same machine and IP address (the // are just comments for this post, not in the actual code)

use_osc "localhost", 8000 // this sets the destination IP osc_send "localhost", 8000, "/renoise/transport/start" // this works and is received by Renoise osc_send "localhost", 8000, "renoise/song/bpm(120)" // this is rejected by Renoise

Actual error message from Renoise: *** rejected: /renoise/song/bpm(120)

I’ve tried using the exact IP address in place of localhost. Changed the listening port. Formatted the integer as a float by adding a .0 to it. Various string formatting. Nothing seems to work.

I’m out of ideas and any input or suggestions would be appreciated. Cheers and thanks.

Today I couldn’t log into the forum. Suddenly the message was “Incorrect username, email or password”. Of course I haven’t changed anything, so I was forced to create a new password. I wanted to use the old one, but it wasn’t possible because the forum says it’s too short. What happened? It would be nice if the users would receive some information if there are any changes overnight. Anyone else facing this?

I do understand that Renoise doesn’t claim to import/play MOD files 100% correctly - but I tried anyway and I wonder:

Why do the notes transposed down by 2 octaves and 5 semitones?
Is there any explanation for that?
My first assumption was that the reason are the different sample rates of Renoise (44.100 Hz) vs. MOD (8.000 Hz?) but 2 octaves and 5 ST should be a factor around 5.34 (I think) and this doesn’t match.

Funny thing is: All the MODs I tried get played more or less correctly (besides minor adjustments like correcting the volume in the sample properties - which -INF db sometimes).

my new album “Providence” by Nomiloth has been released. The style is melodic/epic doom metal with clean vocals. I used Renoise for all composition, arranging, drums, synths and soundscapes, the mixing and mastering was done in Ardour.

Hi. This morning I tried booting up Renoise several times, tried restarting windows but every time was greeted with a crash, then looked at the LOG file and saw it happens every time when instantiating Soundtoys Effectrack (VST2) in my template but that’s odd as I have changed nothing from when I used it just last night.

So I updated to the newest version (EffectRack5_5.4.1.17134_64.exe) and now it at least boot into Renoise but gets a modal window saying “The following plugins could not be found or failed to open”, then I tried the VST3 version I just installed together when updating and that appears to work, but then I have hundreds of unfinished songs made with VST2 and I will get a missing plugins info so much I get dizzy just by the thought of having to recreate the settings in the VST3 version.

Here’s a bit of the log.txt from when opening a XRNS that use Effectrack VST2 and where I tried instatiate VST3 version too

Struggling with how to get Renoise to let me use the pitchbend wheel on my midi controller to do pitchbends. The midi monitor acknowledges pitchbend messages from my controller but work when I use it on the pattern and instrument editor. How do I set it up to work in Renoise?
