It would be kinda cool to have a up to down mode. More optimistic too.

Redux in FL Studio 20

May 6, 2019 - 07:15

@david77 wrote:

Hello everyone,

Has anyone got recording to work in FL Studio 20? I’ve been trying just about everything I can think of, but it seems like FL Studio just can’t detect the inputs.

I’d like to be able to record from a live input straight into Redux to be able to sample. Others have managed to get Redux in as an effect, but I’ve found that even when I try to use the Plugin Manager to switch it from a synth to an effect, it just changes it back to synth the second that I hit apply. Dragging it to the effects rack on the mixer just causes the DAW to add it as a generator rather than adding it to the effects chain.

I’m out of ideas, and it’s strange that others have found that FL Studio detects the inputs and immediately assumes it’s an effect. For me, it only ever detects it as a generator and refuses to let me use it as an effect, even in Patcher.

Those who got it to work on the Image Line forums used the demo to test it, but I find that the same thing happens with both the demo and the paid version.

Thank you!

MAGGGi (OneKnobMagic//Doofer)

@LofiMat wrote:

My Girlfriend was checkin out my Doofer skillz and wanted to know what they do. She did like the Flattermann Wobbler & the Dirtydelay one but also said it was like they are way too complicated and kind of hard to figure out. So I decided to make a simple OOne Knob - Doofer for easy use and direct mangling gestures. It was the most complex Doofer for me until now - so I refused to show her the MAGiC happening inside the box She already loves this:smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

MAGGGi (german word for Magic or secret sauce) Yummm

Use the Magic Knob and be excited by the Love:heart_eyes:
Würzr = Wet signal // Suppr = Direct signal
Everything else is pure Magic!

Here’s the latest track from my Vocal House/EDM collection.
It features @FarishaMusic, you can find her on Facebook, Instagram, SoundCloud, YouTube, Looperman.
The Acapella sample in this track is one of many superb ones that she has on the Looperman website.
The track was solely created in Renoise with a mixture of samples and VST’s.
If you do have a listen, then thank you… it’s always appreciated

Transpose phrase without retriggering from beginning

May 4, 2019 - 14:22

@valankar wrote:

Is it possible to transpose a phrase while it is playing and not retrigger it from the beginning?

I think I can achieve this with the phrase in transpose mode, putting a new note in the pattern editor with Sxx pointing to the line within the phrase to continue from. But I’m wondering if there is another way to do this?

Why? I would like to experiment with the phrase continuously looping without retriggering using GF. However, I want to be able to transpose it while it is looping at any point.

Thanks!

Plugin Grabber (Render to Samples) duration

May 4, 2019 - 12:35

@rainydayshirts wrote:

Hey,

On my windows setup, the plugin grabber when using “Set (lines)”, it always defaults to 1ms off of a whole round number. Example, based on the default 4 lines, if I click set, it will be 499ms. On my linux setups, it would be 500ms. 16 lines sets it to 1999ms. I can’t seem to figure out why this is different on my other rigs. Regardless of various settings, the result is the same. What causes this? Is this how it is supposed to work? Have I messed something up in the settings?

This isn’t so much a “problem”, I just really want to understand why this works the way it does.

Adding back filter3 and so on, properly rename it

May 4, 2019 - 11:25

@ffx wrote:

Hi,

since some deprecated, yet very useful dsp modules are hidden by default, I would like to suggest to review this decision and maybe add it back again.

e.g. the filter 3 module consists of the old 24dB filter, which is a very useful mixing filter, if you want to target some characteristics of 80s mixing style. But in fact it seems to be more a 1-pole-resonant filter, no way it is a 4-pole-filter, if you compare it to melda eq filter settings (which would fit into the 80s sound, since most synth from that time often had no resonance settings at all, and very flat filter curves). For backwards compatibility, why not simply un-deprecate this? Or name it “old filter”?

Also I remember that some people also missed the “shelve” filter versions, or at least then a dry/wet-amount.

Same for some filters within the instrument section…

Here’s my latest album, “Unreal Homemade”:

I wanted to make rhythmic ambient music, using the same technique of layering loops of different lengths that I used on my last album, but I ended up with something a lot more noisy and bizarre than standard ambient music.

FL Studio 20 doesn't seem to detect Redux's inputs

May 4, 2019 - 00:09

@Demondice wrote:

I’m trying to get Redux to play nicely with FL Studio 20. I can load it as a VSTi and play existing samples without any issue, but the inputs don’t seem to be working. I can’t get any audio through the Line In device or to record in the Waveform editor.

FL Studio detects it as a synth, and even when loading the VST in Patcher any audio piped in doesn’t seem to make it as far as the actual plugin. When asking about this on the Image Line forums, others were able to get this to work as FL Studio detected it as an effect as it found the inputs. They were able to switch freely between Synth and Effect in FL Studio’s plugin settings page, but I cannot.

Is there something that could cause Redux to hide its inputs? Have I inadvertently changed a setting somewhere? Has anyone had this issue with FL Studio and been able to overcome it?

I’ve been thinking…

The renoise-zip-download in backstage contains the program BUT ALSO samples,instruments and demo songs…

Wouldn’t it be cool if the next update will contain some tools too?
Maybe some of the tool creators wouldn’t mind to have their tools in the zipfile…
