Ok, this is the second song i made yesterday for the album, the theme for this one is a commercial for Zoobooks that used to come on all the time in my early youth https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S8EvnM2XUTI

The real harmony is the harp sample, and choir, and the percussion is Roland 707 samples. I tried to make this one way shorter, to be like a quick interlude track to transition to the next song, but i think i may have ended the high energy section a bit too quick.

I might be missing something, but I can’t seem to find a way to enter notes in the phrase editor without them being audible.
I’d like to be able to enter note-values while the phrase is running ideally without them being heard while entering, is there a way?

Faders… Songs that go from slow empty intro’s into a complex distorted mess.

So… i have a lot of these songs laying around on my old Harddrives.
Most of them are from 1997~2005 but they can reach up to 2013.

Most of these i cant even load, this is because “new versions of Renoise and lost Vst’s after OS updates”.
But this is a song that actually loaded because it was mostly done with 1 VST and rendered Parts.
Just something i figured i’d post here : )

So, whenever I try to type in a number in a VST plugin and press the keyboard keys, the keys register both in renoise and in the vst. So let’s say I want to change a value for a VST reverb, if the VST instrument is selected as well, even though I am operating in the Reverb window, renoise will register that key and trigger keys/notes associated as shortcuts on the keyboard. Any idea why this is happening? On my previous install of Renoise this wasn’t an issue, I could type whatever in the external VST and it wouldn’t interfere. Now whenever I try to change values and type with the keys, I get random sounds popping as well the track stopping because I press enter. Don’t know if I managed to explain this correctly, all I know is that it is driving me insane and I can’t seem to find any resources about this issue.

When renoise.app():show_warning is used in a notifier for a parameter that has a drop-down menu, it will be triggered twice. This doesn’t happen for any other code in the notifier nor does this happen with any other type of parameter.

It only happens when manually changed by the user though; doing it through the API only triggers once. I notice when changing manually that the drop-down menu is still open on the first warning, but has closed for the second. Perhaps there’s some priority issue there?

When I try to route audio to Redux 1.2.1 (VST2) within PreSonus Studio One 5.1.2.62686, I don’t see the “Sidechain” option available. Thus, I am not able to route audio to it and record into it.
Would there be an alternate method to successfully sample into Redux from Studio One?

So this track is based around the sign off the sign off from Adult Swim to Cartoon Network that used to come on when in my early youth, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WIypRcyVRfk&t=5s

So basically, I’m working on an album, where all of the songs themes are based around stuff i used to watch, it could be commercials, theme songs, bumpers, etc. This is the first track to that album, i was planning to do it all on one renoise XRNI file, but now I’m splitting them up into different files.

Long time user, but rarely post here.

I just did a bounce in Renoise 3.3 and notice it’s now adding chapter markers to the wave file per pattern. This looks like a really cool feature for some use cases, but it’s making encoding with ffmpeg more complicated. Is there a way to disable adding chapter markers?

Let me preface this by saying I’m currently experiencing lots of crackling and popping and have tried lots of solutions to no avail in other threads (using ASIO4ALL or FlexASIO, forcing Renoise to use one less CPU core to “reserve” it for windows, making sure power modes are set to best performance, etc) and the only thing I’ve discovered that helps is bumping my processor’s minimum allowed state under power plans.

So, while the problem may have multiple causes, it seems it is at least partially because of CPU usage, even when Renoise is only reporting about 40% usage.

Now I’m on a quest to lower CPU load as much as possible, and one of the things I’ve been trying to do is get Renoise to make use of my laptop’s NVIDIA GPU for GUI rendering.

I’ve tried forcing Renoise to use my NVIDIA GPU under Windows Settings>System>Display>Graphics Settings as well as creating a profile for Renoise’s executable in the NVIDIA control panel, but when I run Renoise and check GPU activity it still shows no programs utilizing it.

The reason I suspect this may help is that if I limit FPS to 30 under Renoise’s GUI preferences it does seem to lower playback CPU usage by a few percentage at times, but that could just be coincidental.

Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

2. constructive criticism is always welcome (opinions as well)
3. perhaps a deconstruction of the tune in the how-it’s-made manner
   and everything else except endless off-topic psychological pointless statements… I think that hosting can handle new thread for your personal concerns.
