Hi all,

I’m guessing this is simply done, but I am ignorant & have no idea how, so maybe you can help.

I am interested in adding a keybinding for “Silence Selection” in the sample editor… seems odd that it doesn’t have one available in the keys preference pane, especially since all the other buttons below the sample window already have keybinds by default.

I imagine it’s just a matter of adding the right code in the right place, or of making a simple tool? But again, I am ignorant.

Does anyone know how to do this?

I’ve been looking into how the Pre-Mixer’s Width and Stereo Expander’s Surround parameters work, since they’re supposed to be the same. However, I’m seeing a large difference when they’re applied to a slow moving sine wave. The difference isn’t as pronounced when applied to a more complex waveform, but it’s still there (check images at full size for more detail).

Hello,

Renoise is rendering my song, but several of the tracks are rendering at different lengths and bpms. This is most obvious with my bassline, which is starting several bars before my drums do, alongside other elements doing the same. I’ve rendered in both realtime and offline, and this has happened with multiple songs. I’ve not yet had a successful render, so I’ve been shying away from rendering at all. There is no ZL tempo change trickery or really anything complex going on, and the only VSTs being used are for reverb.

Is this a common bug or am I doing something wrong? I’d attach the .xrns file but it’s too big (29mb)

Hi Everyone,

I have Renoise version 3.3 loaded on my main machine, and have used @dogsplusplus’ excellent hardware sampling tool to create some instruments from my hardware synths. I would like to use these instruments on my Windows tablets which, because they are 32 bit machines, can only run Renoise version 3.1. Is there a way to downgrade or convert these instruments so that they will load on older versions of Renoise? For example, can I save these instruments in version 3.3 as .xi files, or .sfz’s?

Hello!

I’m trying to map my AKAI AMX to renoise. When I try to map a fader, the midi monitor shows me that it is MSB/LSB 14bit CC messages and gives me a jumpy output. When I swap it to an endless encoder - it works as desired.

Is there a way to translate my fader signals into something more usable?

Anyone got LegacyCell 1.6 working in Renoise? Parameter changes are not saved here.

If I open the plugin, move a slider and then duplicate the instrument, the new plugin instance will not have the slider changes.

Win10 with latest updates, Renoise 3.3.2.

It works in OpenMPT.

Any help appreciated.

Sometimes when I put Izotope Ozone 8 Advanced on the master track, I get a noticeable lag, the tracker and the sound are not in sync, the tracker starts moving and after a while the sound starts.

I have a fairly modern computer with lots of ram, and even if I disable Ozone, the lag is still there even though nothing of it is being used, also It doesn’t happen every time, just sometimes. I wonder if this is some kind of a Renoise bug or an Ozone bug, I’m leaning towards it being a Renoise issue since I have never noticed it in Reaper or Studio One.

Anyone else noticed this?

Hey everybody…
quick question, i wanna know something, from the viewpoint of somebody who does not have any idea where to start googling… nor am i that good at programming…

However, i would love to create a csv file from my renoise projects…
as in… i got 1024step song… turns into a 1024row csv with a few colums that contain played notes… if i be able to extract parameter information of that step, it be awesome…

any keywords, or wisedom, whatever i just dont know?

Hey, so this has been bothering me for ages now.

My project files that use multiple instances of Kontakt and/or EastWest Play load extremely slowly and often just hang for minutes. Most of my older projects also tend to just hang forever on load and need to be force closed. It’s only after multiple attempts that you may get them to load properly. Projects on more recent Renoise versions (and sandboxing plugins) seems to have helped with the endless hangs, but the load times are still insane.

My computer specs are i7-9700 @ 4.2ghz, 16gb ram, windows10 pro. Renoise is on an M2 NVMe drive and plugins and the sample libraries are on a Samsung 860 EVO pro.

Any idea on what the bottleneck is? The problem is the same in project files that don’t even peak memory usage that much. On a related note, loading big kontakt libraries within Renoise takes ages - there’s also a similar kind of long hang before the library actually starts loading. Standalone Kontakt and other DAWs start loading the instruments instantly.

It should also be noted that the issue has persisted through multiple different PCs, Windows, Renoise and Kontakt versions.

It would be awesome if the pattern view/tracker view/mixer view could be disconnected as a window and set to another display. I know you can drag the complete window, but I’m working with multiple monitors with different resolutions, so that won’t work nicely.

It’d be nice, and apologies if it’s possible to do already and I just don’t know how but, a button to turn on and off pressure MIDI Velocities or have a slider to adjust the volume/pressure ranges that notes can be played at would be nice.

I’m guessing that it’d be under the Sampler tab Volume Modulation or something.

Hello,

I wonder if there’s any or a way/tools/workaround to get the mutes to sync up with patterns/clock.

What I mean is, in ideal situation, you could hit the mute in the middle of the pattern and the mute would trigger after the pattern has reached its end.

I’m trying to see if I could add Renoise to my live setup where I’d have pattern repeat on, switch patterns with a midi controller and also mute and un-mute individual tracks in those patterns all sync’d up to the clock with a midi controller.

I haven’t really tested this, but do I need to be worried about latency when just using my laptop keyboard to enter notes? Does having a high block size on your audio interface cause latency when you’re just playing notes on the computer keyboard like it would with a midi controller?

Hi there!

In the past I’ve released a few albums on physical support (CD) and that was fine. But for now I would hesitate to release something non digital as everybody mainly listen music on the internet.

But one another way, I fell a physical support show to listeners that the composer is involved into his music (because it’s less easy to do something physical than publishing tracks on the internet). And it’s also a way different to listen.
The problem is I feel it’s harder now for indies to sell, and even share their CD, vinyl or tapes. No?

So I wanted to know, are you still releasing music on physical support? Thinking of it? Or only digital?

Wouldn’t it be cool if tracks could auto-change their name from “track 1” to the name and instrument slot of the instrument being used in them, like “00.BD-808” or “03.crash.wav”? Then of course you could change it to whatever you like, but I end up changing all my track names to “BD” “SD” “bass” after my initial flurry of adding instruments and tracking notes in. It would really save me a step if it intelligently did that for me.

Could this be done as an XRNX?

Uhm, isn’t it an idea having shortcuts for devices/device chains???

e.g. for a send device, command+s and so on? for frequently used devices must be a fast workflow this way if possible of course… for your doofers maybe handy

Hello fellow renoise worshipers

Something i really miss on Renoise is displaying the note i’m pressing when i’m not in edit mode or instrument view. After several years of using trackers i’m definately not able to know by heart the keyboard / notes matches.
I believe it is not possible natively but do you have any trick, lua script, or lightweight third party solution to achieves this?

I don’t get any feedback by the following question, might any Renoise dev. help me in this one?

In Renoise I like to have the exact same cursor as seen in MAC OS, how to accomplish this? caus I have set a dark cursor in MAC but the Renoise one is white and changing screens, it anoys me.

i can’t find system files from Renoise in my Mac.
