Help with Amigo VST
Morning.
I’m brand new to Renoise but not trackers. Haven’t used a DAW in 10 years.
I bought Renoise yesterday, I’m version 3.4.3 x64 on Windows.
I also bought the Amigo VST.
Following the Amigo instructions you have to put it in… common files/VST3
I’ve done that but my “plugin” sections on Renoise are empty.
I downloaded a free VST3 called OB-Xd.
OB-Xd had an actual .exe installer file. I installed it and it located itself in the VST3 folder and appears in Renoise perfectly fine.
How do I get Amigo to appear in Renoise and be usable please? I’m stuck, I’ve done some troubleshooting but no luck.
I’ll include a photo…

Warriors, shall we play war? ...No!
I imagined it would end with the closure, however I take back my little space, in the correct section. I know that I was the one who triggered everything in some way and sorry, but I didn’t imagine the conversation would get this heated to this point. So here we don’t talk about that topic, about everything but that, so we avoid drama. Thank you. We talk about acid sounds, pianos, percussion, performances, sound design techniques, personal problems if you want lol, welcome to the therapy session. Ok, seriously, let’s avoid arguing over stupid things, missiles are flying in the sky, people are dying, and we want to massacre ourselves in the name of an alleged reason? It’s not a question to answer, we all know the answer. Think about having fun, however you want, as long as you have fun!

Mapping repeater divisor to keys on midi keyboard
While reading about phrases in the manual the image (on page 80) provided shows a section of the keyzone being used for “Repeat Control”. I am wondering if it is possible to map the divisor values in repeater to the phrase keyzone like in the image and if so, how? Thank you!

Instrument automation & An idea to solve
Hello, I often see with VST3 instruments (Omnisphere 2) that when setting up host automation in a given VST instrument, the name of individual host automation is not written. ID= e.g. 0, but the name remains “No Parameter” … That’s why I’m asking if it would be possible to add a new function in Renoise, namely the ability to rename “No Parameter” to a user-editable name. It would make it easier and actually solve the problem with VST3 instroment and host automation.

Can't target all parameters in a plugin when automating
Hey, everyone.
Before I even start, let me say that I used the search function and didn’t find any threads on this subject.
Now, allow me.
I’ve been facing a small (but annoying) issue when automating plugin parameters in Renoise.
The thing is: Renoise doesn’t let me automate all of them in the pattern sequencer. It’s like there’s a limitation of how many I can “reach” with right mouse click.
One example is Devious Machines Infiltrator, which has about 10 different submodules in sequential order.
Each of these submodules has its own parameters: On/Off; Dry/Wet; Stereo Width; etc.
Renoise can only automate up to 4 different of these submodules in the pattern sequencer. After a certain number of parameters, the “right click to insert automation in the tracker” function simply doesn’t work. This means the other 6 remaining submodules cannot be automated this way (unless I change their order and replace one of the first 4).
Now, silly question time:
Is this a MIDI or Hexadecimal limitation?
I’m aware MIDI can only reach 0-127 and hex 0-255. Still… I’m not sure why I can’t target some of the knobs.
Is there a workaround? Anyone else facing this?
Thanks a lot!

New tool (3.4.3): On The Fly v1.0 build 136 (March 2024)
The following control program is a single window tool exclusive to the Renoise DAW (64 bit, v3.4.3) or future versions. Generally, it is designed for integration and massive control with MIDI input (or commonly known as “MIDI routing”), through a USB MIDI controller (or several) of Pad type or similar, mainly focused on live playback. of the song, as well as for sound control for live changes, for creativity in real time. On The Fly is designed for use on stage, for performing live shows based on song projects composed especially for it and designed for the vast majority of USB MIDI devices on the market, being very flexible in this sense, especially for Large or small size PADs, small 2 or 3 octave keyboards and devices with wheels and pads, as well as medium or large MIDI keyboards with some additional control knobs…
On The Fly. General view of the window with different layouts.
Renoise massive MIDI mapping issue (lack of integration). The OTF tool effectively solves a massive MIDI mapping and routing problem of Renoise, plus it adds more MIDI control not possible from Renoise. Certainly, the Renoise DAW was originally created with composition in mind, without taking into account MIDI mapping for mass control, and unfortunately, other DAWs with a more recent history suffer from the same problem. MIDI routing/mapping was a later addition, adapted to the already created DAW. This causes, for example, non-fixed variable elements, such as the sequence slots themselves, tracks, instrument slots, or effects devices in each track’s effects chain, to require “unique physical mapping.” They are elements that may or may not exist, so if any of these elements are mapped and then this element is deleted, the associated mapping will disappear. This means that the composer is forced to create an exclusive MIDI mapping for each song project and excessively limits the use of physical controls by having to link them to unique parameters or elements, creating a situation of constant lack of control due to lack of many more physical controls. He OTF solves all these problems!
On The Fly. Pad mode [InP] for bulk control of instrument plugin parameter amounts.
Pagination and distribution as a great power of control. Well, OTF eliminates all the aforementioned limitations, achieving control of everything necessary with a single MIDI mapping of the tool, valid for any song project, taking full advantage of the concept of “pagination”. Thanks to this capability, On The Fly opens up a whole range of possibilities for live playback, effective use of Renoise on stage, as well as broader and faster control of Renoise, even taking into account its complexity. Additionally, it is also possible to combine the MIDI mapping of OTF with the MIDI mapping of Renoise, leaving all the power in the hands of the artist. And if all this sounds not enough, it achieves great compatibility with the majority of USB MIDI controller devices on the market, thanks to the “distribution capacity” of the central panel.
Visual settings and control options:- Change up to 5 Control Panel Modes. Each Mode has 2 views, main and secondary, with [ALT] off or with [ALT] on. In reality, it offers up to 10 different control panels.
- 25 layouts, 24 specific for USB MIDI Pads physical controllers and one special for USB MIDI Piano physical controller, with configuration from 1 octave (12 notes) to 10 octaves (120 notes).
- 10 pad sizes. Specially designed so that the window takes up little space or large format even for touch monitors.
- Distribution in normal order or with investment. The normal order starts with pad 1 in the top row. Inverted, pad 1 begins in the bottom row, specially designed for the typical layout of MIDI Pads.
- Distribution-size-reversal lock, with padlock.
- Button [ALT] with 3 states: off, on, or with press and hold for alternative controls.
- Navigation and paging buttons. They allow you to navigate or page up to 250 times between the chosen pad layout (for example, if the chosen layout is a 16-pad pad, 16-by-16 pages).
- Automatic pagination for the sequence when playback tracking is on.
- Transport buttons: play (green), stop/panic (yellow), pattern loop (red), song track and edit mode (pattern editor).
- Switch buttons depending on control panel mode: LOP (loop/loopback), RND (randomization), minimum and maximum value range for loop or randomization. Slot Shutdown, Off, Mute and Solo buttons. Note start switching buttons, transpose scale selection and scale start note, fixed or variable volume speed button (keypress speed).
- Pagination bookmark. It is possible to page up to 250 times, whether the layout is 4 pads or 256. This means in the latter case, for example, that it is possible to control up to 250 x 256 = 64,000 parameters of a complex instrument plugin. If it is the first case, it would correspond to 250 x 4 = 1000 parameters. 250 x 4 also implies being able to reach from 1 to sequence 1000, in this extreme case.
- Selected sequence marker. This number shows the selected pattern in the sequence. Matches the playback sequence marker if song tracking is on.
- Playback sequence marker. This number shows at any given time what position the playback is in the sequence.
- Master sliding bar and its slave wheels (1+7 format). From 1 to 7 more slave wheels. This allows up to 8 parameters to be controlled at the same time, each time in each selection. They support “relative” or “absolute” physics modes. With normal or slow traversing or rotation speed for precision ( press and hold [ALT]).
- Access to the Preferences Panel. It allows you to customize the appearance and behavior of the OTF for more adapted control according to the needs of the composer or artist.
- Supports Open Sound Control (OSC) for sound playback and for editing in the pattern editor.
- Supports MIDI input for key velocity sensitivity detection (0 to 127).
- Customization of some control features, such as: double slider/wheel speed, speed up repeat speed press and hold, control of the “color blend” of the tracks, among others.
Please, to fully understand the OTF, download and carefully read the user guide (section 3)…

Renoise Visualization, Pixilang, etc
I was just watching the latest SunVox content compilation and just admiring the visualization element of it.
SunVox Compo 2024.02 (44 tracks)
It’s developed in Pixilang, a visual programming environment by the mad scientist developer of SunVox, Alexander Zolotov. The video looks like an extension of the DAW, showing the active patterns, instruments, and effects.
Cool visuals like this can generate interest in the DAW itself – I know I love seeing a screencast of how a song is built in Renoise, watching Renoise as it plays different peoples’ work so I can see how different artists approach music-making in this tool. When I show off my own creations to the uninitiated, they always comment on what it looks like as much as how it sounds.
I wonder if it’s worth anyone’s while to have a “visual version” of Renoise for playback, expressly for screencasting and/or displaying live, combining trippy visuals that also show insights into how the song was constructed in Renoise? Is it even possible with the existing API?
That is… would it be better or more useful than just using a regular music visualizer that creates visuals without showing much about what happened in the DAW to create that music?

Setting Sample Start Time
I love layering sample in Renoise, but wish there would be a way to set the sample start time without having to use the slice mode, which doesn’t let one layer samples.

Acid - new Jc303
To all acid fans, this new emulation of 303 has been released. Nothing miraculous, the more experienced can get a better sound without leaving the native use of Renoise, but for those looking for the acid sound and who haven’t figured it out yet how to build it, it is undoubtedly a nice toy… It’s free, it does its job with dignity. There is also the possibility of automating something internally to the vst, by lifting the Mod On lever and playing with the knobs that regulate the different automations… The only negative criticism, the Decay knob doesn’t seem to work, I tried playing with it for a good ten minutes but it doesn’t seem to alter any Decay at all regardless of all the other settings I don’t know if it’s a bug or what else… If anyone can make it work then please let me know, thank you.

Slicing multiple samples recorded into Redux/Sampler
Hello,
Say I am trying to build a drum kit with multiple recorded samples within Redux. When I go to slice one of them it deletes all other samples I recorded. Is Redux/Sampler limited to slicing only one sample or is it possible to slice multiple recorded samples without deleting the other? Thank you so much for the help.
