My first Renoise track (Largo und Freuden)
After owning and experimenting with Renoise since December 2017, I have finally made a 4 minute song using mostly softsynths such as Largo, Charlatan, Pro-1, and Cobalt. It took about five days to make witha 1 week hiatus. Any criticism is welcome, especially since this track has no mastering or automation.
Note: There is clipping in the video for some reason. The Windows 10 camera is not the best screen recorder.

macOS Catalina: Graphics glitches
Hi I’m experiencing a lot of weird graphical glitches with Redux in macOS Catalina 10.15.6.
When using the AU version in Logic I get weird white boxes instead of tooltips and in menus a white bx appears before the menu appears.
When using the VST version the menus take forever to open and are really sluggish. It happens with every DAW I won (Studio One (v4.6 and V5), Bitwig (3.2.6), Ableton Live (10). At this point the plugin is unusable.
Is there anything I need to look at? Settings I need to reset?
I’m on a Late 2012 iMac at the moment and on the latest version of Catalina. Let me know if you need more information.

Renoise hangs and other irritating things
After some time in background, when I alt+tab back to Renoise and hit play or undo, it hangs for some time and does nothing. If then I click this butoons again, it hangs again. Only way is to restart renoise.
It was like this since spring, when I first went to new version. I thought it may be connected to screen resolution or tools, but when I cleared “scripts” directory, it still hangs
I’m on win 10.
Can I also grump here about other irritating behavior of Renoise? It doesn’t save hotkeys. I have english/russian langs and I saw topics regarding the problem dating 2014. I don’t remember having this problem in 2014 but now I do and advices of those topics don’t help.
Also, small but irritating. I write code in Microsoft Visual Studio. Usually when I alt+tab from any other app back to VS, cursor is placed in code where it was before. But when I alt-tab from renoise (if it is in full screen mode) cursor is focused on upper menu

Free Tape Sound / Mastering Plugin - CHOW Tape Model
I’m not one to push audio plugins on my profiles often. Yesterday, I found one that really changed my final sound in such a nice way. It took the sharpness of my digital sound and added a very subtle depth (as I had set it to do just that). Sharp clicks and pops now have the added benefit of being rounded off - not clipped, but curved.
FREE!
I love the sound of tape, especially the higher-quality sound of reel-to-reel. I found the CHOW Tape Model plugin on GitHub, and I feel it may become a permanent addition to any final mix of mine. For Windows/Mac

64 plugin does not load in 3.2.2
upon loading a specific plugin in renoise 3.2.2 which worked fine before a random crash. Renoise shuts down without a warning. The only thing the logs show about the plugin is : VstPlugs: Trying to instantiate
after that the logs are blank. The plugin seems to work fine in other daws even in renoise 3.2.1. The 32bit version also loads without problems in 3.2.2.
I have tried reinstalling both renoise and the plugin but nothing seems to work.

Allow Notes to be delayed forward in Time
I know there’s little chance of this happening (Backward compatability), but to get the groove I want I usually slightly delay notes forward in time and not backward and it would be so nice if there was a option in the preferences to make the delay value bipolar with 80 being no delay and so on.
bugs me that I have to move notes a whole 16th and almost delay them a whole 16th back to get the effect I want.

Allow to set Pitch Center in Phrases Keyzone Mode
Maybe I’m doing it wrong, but when using Phrases in Keyzone Mode (in Redux) and I spread a phrase over let’s say 2 octaves, it’s not possible to set the pitchcenter to the middle so the phrase get’s pitched up or down when playing it over the two octaves, rather it can only be pitched up (by 2 octaves).

(macOS Mojave) Scripting Editor UI doesn't load
Hey there
I’ve got back to trying my hand at Lua scripting after a couple months and now, for no apparent reason, the scripting editor just doesn’t appear in the Scripting Editor & Terminal window, only the Terminal does (and it responds to commands and messages from tools).
The Editor tab only shows 'No file loaded". No menu, no tree, nothing else.
I’ve tried and dragged Lua scripts into it. deleting Renoise and re-installing it.
I’ve tried every key shortcut from the help doc, also.
Bit clueless on this one… Somehow, the editor doesn’t point to any folder?
Hopefully this is just one little stupid thing i might have switched on/off and not a bug…

Should I upgrade my CPU for renoise?
Hi guys.
I’m getting more and more of renoise getting his cpu meter to 100% and making some bad noise while playing a song due to the lack of cpu power. The weird thing is that my stand alone cpu meter doesn’t report such a high cpu usage. How could that be?
Renoise is reporting a CPU usage of 60-70% with a few peaks at 100% while my cpu meter is between 30-50% with a few peaks at 70%
I’m wondering If I should upgrade my current AMD Ryzen 5 1600 to something like a AMD Ryzen 5 3600X. Would that get rid of the problem?

Renoise as sound design
Picked up an old track and decided to finish to an extent. It’s all Renoise besides the use of Xfer OTT and some drum samples. Renoise as synth with single-cycle waveforms.

Option to lower knob and fader mouse resistance
this might be a wierd one, but I would love it if there was an option in the preferences to lower the
knob and fader mouse resistance inside renoise.
faders need too much travel distance on a trackpad in my opinion and could be quicker since there is already a modifer key to make precise adjustments and I feel trackpads in general allow for more sensitive adjustments these days than renoise grants them.
It’s always something that I notice when I switch between Ableton and Renoise: that the quickness to adjust faders in Ableton is UX wise very satisfying while still allowing for precise adjustments (on a Macbook trackpad) and makes the Programm feel very fluid. In Renoise for example, to lower the volume fader I actually have to drag my finger down on the pad, lift it, move it back up again and drag down again to move the fader all the way down.
I know this might not be of great importance because it’s just an interaction UX thing, but it would be ace if the drag resistance could be adjusted as a variable in the prefs.

New user to Renoise, should I buy Redux?
Hi guys, so as I mentioned in another post I went ahead and purchased Renoise… YAYYYY… I still do not get and understand what Redux is? I have seen the videos and it seems to be a VST plugin of some sort, I saw it can hook into other DAWs like Ableton or Logic … But I still do not get it.
Can someone please give a simple plain English explanation of why I would purchase and use this addon?
Give some real life examples.
Thanks peeps.
