How to render individual tracks to files with the effects on a group applied?
I have 6 tracks in one “group”, the “group” has one reverb on it that’s being automated.
How can I render these 6 tracks seperatly with the automated reverb applied?
and yes, I know I can render the whole group.
What I want to achieve is 6 tracks rendered seperatly with the group fx applied.

*Something* broke, 40hz hum in Master, no sound
Win 10, Renoise 3.3.2, bunch of VSTs and samples, RME Babyface Pro.
I was making a sweet flute solo with Spitfire Audio BBC Symphony Orchestra, when suddenly there was a POP and this demon of 40hz (or something like that) appeared. It’s there and basically renders the Master channel unable to play anything at all.
Mind you, it’s only this track, so other songs work just fine.
So, I started to remove anything that was added to see what could possibly be a culprit for this nuisance. I first deleted each and every VST from the song, then I removed each and every effect (both VSTs and Natives), then each and every pattern, then all the tracks. It still persists. Let me repeat: there’s exactly one empty track, one empty instrument and one empty pattern in that song, from which, mystically, appears 40hz signal that kills all audio.
Wut do? I can send the file to anyone willing to test it, if necessary.

Kamson - Dreams We Lost (synthwavish tune that came 12th [sigh] @ Flash Party 2021)
https://files.scene.org/view/parties/2021/flashparty21/streaming_music/kamson_-_dreams_we_lost.zip
Ok, my first track shared here. Enjoy!
(still needs to be mixed and mastered properly, but this will be done by someone else sometime in the future)

Renoise handling of VSTs with built-in sequencers
Why is it that the NOTE-OFF command is always ignored when a VST has a built-in sequencer? I’ve mostly come across this with Roland Cloud instruments (such as the 303, 808 etc.) and with some Kontakt instruments. Also XLN Audio XO. TBH it seems like this is mostly an issue with sequencers in drum VSTs.
Most of the time you don’t even need to trigger the sequence with a note in the pattern editor. It just starts playing as soon as i hit space, whether there’s a note in the track or not, and the only way to stop it seems to be to mute the track completely. I’m not even sure if this is a Renoise issue or just an issue with DAWs in general, but it drives me crazy not being able to trigger a Roland 303 sequence for example with a note in the pattern editor, and NOTE-OFF when i want it to stop. As it is now i have to automate the track volume to go to 0, but that doesn’t take into account any in-VST effects there might be (delay or whatever) like a NOTE-OFF would do. It just cuts everything off entirely.
Am i missing something?

Question; How will a MIDI controller with "endless" type knobs function?
Like on the Akai MPK Mini MK3 for example.
I want to use knobs that doesn’t set themselves on one value, so if I rotate the volume one one channel, change the MIDI CC preset via the controller itself so the knob has a different function (like delay send) I want it to continue turning it up/down from the position it was in software, not in the hardware positon like on regular knobs that have a start and end position.
I hope I was able to explain this properly.

GUI and computer keyboard input lag when a particular vst tooltip is displayed
While the tooltip for the operator envelopes of Tracktion’s f.'em vst is displayed in Renoise, Renoise’s gui stops updating smoothly and its computer keyboard’s note input lags.
There is no apparent increase in consumption of hardware resources. The issue occurs immediately on moving the cursor to where the tooltip would be displayed, and ends immediately on removing it.
This occurs on 3.2.2 x64 on Windows 10.
Steps to reproduce:
- Launch Renoise.
- Set an instrument to use Tracktion’s f’em vst as a plugin.
- Enable Renoise’s oscilloscope.
- Notice that playing notes with the computer keyboard occurs without latency and the oscilloscope updates smoothly.
- Mouse over an f’em operator envelope so the tooltip appears.
- Notice that keyboard note input immediately lags and the oscilloscope no longer updates smoothly.
- Move the mouse away from the operator envelop so the tooltip disappears.
- Notice that the keyboard note input immediately stops lagging and the oscilloscope updates smoothly again.
The linked video demonstrates the issue with a pattern being played.

New Tool (3.3) True Track Bypass
Alpha thrown together today to help preserve some CPU cycles. Mutes all instrument columns and bypasses all fx.
Use cases:
-Discover CPU hogging tracks.
-Doing a manual render and ‘freeze’ of a high CPU track.
-Preserving experimental/ sound design tracks for later and free up the CPU
0.51 quick update:
-when non-inst tracks have no DSPs to bypass, a staus is shown and the button will not default to orange
ledger.scripts.TrueTrackBypass_V0.51.xrnx
Shortcut
True Track Bypass
GUI
- Toggle Button for each track: mutes all note columns and bypasses fx on track
Muted instrument tracks = Red
Muted group/send/master = Orange
- Track selection buttons on left.
NOTES:
Tracks aren’t fully muted and sends and groups will still allow sound to pass. It’s just all devices and notes will be bypassed.
If you have a device that you don’t want switched back on when using the tool, put it in a doofer and it will keep its bypassed state.

[video] Syncing and sequencing VCV Rack with Renoise
A short tutorial I made on the subject, since I couldn’t find anything around the web (except for forum posts).
I know it’s the same as syncing Renoise to any other DAW/synth, etc, but VCV Rack works a little bit different, since it uses CV, gates etc.
Have fun.

Suggestion: Community thread for swapping FX Chains :)
Hello Renoise’ers!
What do you think about a FX-Chains or FX-Effect’s swapping channel? Users could upload their self maked FX Constructs with a short Description and/or a short example sample. What you think about this idea?
- Good
- Bad
- Not needed this shit
- Exist already

Playing a two-hour live set at a festival this weekend
Going live with renoise again this weekend! I usually bounce back and forth between two instances, with various control parameters mapped to a small control surface. This will be my longest set yet, so, wish me luck!
I’m closing out the festival, so it’s guaranteed to be a show-stopper
Here’s the festival if anyone’s interested: https://www.chilluminati.events/event/sacred-earth-open-air-2021/
I’m not listed on the poster because I was a late addition to the lineup. Psyched to score a spot, and psyched to play out again! There’s nothing quite like hearing your tunes getting bumped on a 20,000+ watt sound system…

Audiomodern Riffer sync issue in Renoise
Hi all,
I am a relatively new user to Renoise, and I’m currently loving the software. It’s a refreshing break from most contemporary DAWs.
However, I have run into a sync issue with Audio Modern’s Riffer when using the plugin as a MIDI trigger device. I routed the MIDI output of Riffer to an instance of Serum via the MIDI routing setting, Riffer is above Serum in the device list. Link to plugin below for reference.
Audiomodern™ Riffer | The Creative MIDI Sequencer | Audiomodern™MIDI generator & MIDI sequence generator. Generate beautiful patterns and melodies for your sounds VST • VST3 • AU • AAX Plugin for MAC, PC + iOS
My issue is this, when starting playback in Renoise, Riffer is always out of sync and never starts the sequence playback at the very start, it starts about 3/4 into the sequence. I can adjust this slightly by changing the Line Per Beat setting and the Pattern Line Length, this seems to affect the starting point of the Riffer playback. I can admittedly find a sweet spot at 60bpm with a Line Per Beat setting at 32, and Pattern Line Length at 256. Playback in Riffer now loops from the starting point using the above settings.
However, if a higher BPM is used then Riffer is out of sync again, and starts to continuously drift, and any adjustments to the Lines Per Beat and Pattern Line Length never seem to work. I have set Riffer to MIDI control mode, which means you start the playback when a note is entered on the Renoise pattern tracker section.
Can anyone please give me any advice regarding this, is there a possible config workaround. Any advice would be extremely awesome, thanks to anyone who answers.
Matt

Track background blend not remembered
I build a template, where I color the reverb tracks a bit:
After saving and reloading the template, the blend setting is lost for some tracks:
Happens also, if I make a new group while having the bass track selected.

3.3.2 still seems to use the old full screen on Mojave
3.3 shipped with some OSX fixes, including:
All builds are notarized now, a few drawing fixes for OSX Big Sur, replaced Renoise’s “custom” full screen mode with the standard OSX’ full screen mode for better compatibility in newer versions of OSX.
(⮚ Renoise 3.3 and Redux 1.2 released)
But I’m seeing 3.3.2 still use the old “faux-full screen” where it draws its UI on the same desktop as it launched on, but just “on top of everything else”, obfuscating the dock and status bar, rather than by using the standard full screen mode that moves full screen apps to their own virtual desktop so you can cmd-left/right your way to both your regular desktop and other full screen apps (used by everything from FL Studio/Ableton to Adobe Lightroom to VS Code to all full-screenable macos built-ins like Image Capture or Automator).
Note, I’m running in this on Mojave (mostly because old plugins means I can’t upgrade this machine to the 32-bit-less newer versions) although as far as I understand, that functionality did not change between Mojave and Catalina/Big Sur.

Handtool shortcut for Waveform editor
For the Waveform editor I would like to request new keyboard shortcuts that allow navigating the zoomed in view left and right.
Some apps have a feature where you press down the mouse-wheel button and drag left and right, a shortcut for this behavior would be sweet and or alternatively like in apps such as Photoshop it’s possible to hold down H or Spacebar and use LMB to drag the view left/right:
The sampler also have a minimap of the sample, maybe make it draggable or clickable so you can navigate the selected view from there.

Renoise ..controlled by cirklon
I have received my cirklon and I am having a blast , but there is something that is really bugging me
In renoise, the Octave switch ( keyboard shortcut /,*) is transposing ALL instruments even when they receive midi input note data from the cirklon
Fist of all , i am not using the cirklon usb out , but rather the physical midi port and using the roland integra as a midi interface
Selecting the input port and channel I can easily control the vst’s insruments , but why does he octave switch transpose the instruments , or the incoming midi data ?

Ultimatoni - Dawn Will Come (Alternative Pop)
Hey,
I just released a song that is the first one for my new solo project. This was almost entirely done on Renoise, only some vocals I needed to record on Reaper because I found recording on Renoise a bit complicated due to heavy CPU use and the delay went too high to record vocals properly.
