Ignoring Track Velocities?
This might be for the Help, Support & Bugs category if it already is a thing but if it isn’t I guess it’s an Idea & Suggestion.
Is it possible to ignore the entered Track Notes velocities entered they’d already been entered, perhaps by checkbox or something similar without having to change the volume number after each note, copying the track for and edit or some other similar hack but just an effect or option to do so?

Parameter Locks in Renoise [some things]
Greetings!
I recently stumbled upon a video where the idea of blocking the parameters of electron brand instruments is very successfully implemented.
https://www.youtube.com/embed/Ga8XK-GAdIY
I think something like this could be very useful for more opportunities in renoise. yes, I know about automation in the line through the right mouse button and, in fact, this method partially duplicates the already familiar approach, but still, as it seemed to me, in the existing scenario, this implementation could add clarity. than actually famous renoise. I enbrasled a small concept as I would see it within the framework of renoise.
Here is a simple visual solution I see in the framework of renoise. there is a column in which each step is highlighted in which there is an automation parameter. plus in each tool the value value is highlighted.
thanks for your attention and it would be very interesting to know the opinion of the community about such a concept.

Auto Adjust Macro Mapping Range as Config Option
In Live one can enable an option to, well, auto adjust the macro mapping range. So when one assigns a slider to a macro the set value is taken as the minimum macro value. I did not found a way to do so in Renoise. Macro minimum and maximum are always set to the max/min values and the macro starts at 50.0.
A way to change this behavior via config or option would be highly appreciated on my side …

Pattern Previous/Next Buttons
I usually use the buttons on my MIDI but sometimes I use CTRL+Arrowkeys, but it would be nice to have a couple icons tacked at the tend of the REC button up at the top left of the screen; there seems to be enough room at the top menu bar for more things.
Thanks

Adding Uno Synth Pro Analgo Synth To Renoise
Hello. I’d like to reface this by saying i’m completely new to Renoise coming from mostly an ableton live background but am slightly familiar with protools as well. I digress. Have been trying for a few hours now to get an analog synth to play through renoise, namely the Uno Synth Pro. Regardless of what you might think of it’s sound quality im hitting a wall in so far as renoise being able to detect the device apparently. Following instructions from other forum post i’ve seen that one uses the Line Input device set to MIDI Return Mode, then within the MIDI tab under Output device one should be able to select a the synth. However when going to do this nothing really show, simply Renoise Midi Out Sync or Midi Through Port-0. If someone could point me in the right direction or fly here and set this up while i’m at work leaving a book of instructions on how to fix my life that’d be great. Or we could talk it out in the forums. How does on utilize an analog synth within a DAW like Renoise. Am looking to begin making breakcore and really need this thing working. Is there something i’m misunderstanding about MIDI Output. Thank you

Customization of Windows 10 UI
Like how do? I’d like to do it without using the UXTheme program and it seems like it’d be easy to do with just a Windows Theme File file but Google search searches aren’t getting me the searches I want of just a list of files of themes that don’t require the UXTheme program, which seems pretty straightforward and something that would be under the Microsoft store, but all that’s in the Microsoft store are wallpapers as themes and not actually themes of which you’d think that there’d be lol.

Track repeat button on midiplus MIDI Keyboard X6 mini inoperable
I cannot seem to get the track repeat button to function on the aforementioned keyboard; I tried MIDI MAPping it to no avail and am not sure what to do to get it to function and thought maybe someone else had the same keyboard and figured it out.
K thanks

Native built-in tuner
A tuner would be handy. Maybe as an option and added where the Phase view is located.

I try to add a toolbar but I'm failing :D
I have very very basic coding knowledge yet I try to come up with an additional toolbar
So far I was able to create a xrnx tool. I’ve set up a manifest.xml and a main.lua
I also created the option to keybinding and added a menu entry. Here it stops
I tried to call a widget via the menu entry but failed this is the error message.
*** main.lua:23: variable 'show_dialog' is not declared *** stack traceback: *** [C]: in function '_error' *** [string "local mt = getmetatable(_G)..."]:29: in function <[string "local mt = getmetatable(_G)..."]:24> *** main.lua:23: in function <main.lua:23>But hey maybe some coders are can come up easily with what I want to achieve:
I want to create a widget toolbar which reflects parts of context menu in the sample editor menu. So I/we could have a floating widget with options like “Cross Reverse” / “Rubberband-Aid” / “Generate Custome Wave” … I do not necessarily need icons pure text-buttons would be fine too.
I took a look at the Renoise ViewBuilder API Reference but can’t get my head around it
I also tried to alter and/or copy parts of code from other tools but nothing works.
Any tips on how to come forward? Thanks

Midi input notes from controller in wrong octave
Hi,
I’m having a problem with renoise transposing the midi input from my controller. I have the Arturia keylab and I’ve configured it to send the drum pads notes out on channel 10 starting on note c-1 and ending on d#2. When I view the output from the Arturia midi console, that’s what I see. When I view the output from MidiView I see the same. When I look at the midi monitor in renoise, I get notes on channel 10, but from c-3 to d#4. What’s going on here? Does renoise transpose midi input at some point? I’ve not been able to find a reason as to why this is happening so any ideas would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

Can't exit Renoise after new UVI Workstation VST3 plugin crash
UVI Workstation just got an update with a VST3 plugin for the first time, the plugin crashes straight away when you load it (the VST2 still works), with the blame shifting error popup saying “it’s probably the plugin and not Renoise broken contact the dev blabla”, anyways, Renoise should ignore all further errors from the crashed plugin, or that’s what the popup says, however, if you try to exit Renoise, it will hang and the status bar says “Closing the application (stopping the player)”, but nothing happens, you have to manually end the process to close Renoise, or wait until Windows notices that Renoise has stopped and will ask to exit it. You can’t exit it even if you clear the instrument slot with UVI Workstation or replace it with another plugin

BUG?: renoise.song().transport.loop_range[] & repeated playback of the first line
R3.4.1 + W11
renoise.song().transport.loop_range[] can define the starting line and the ending line that you want to create a loop, for example from line 0 to line 7, or from line 12 to line 20…
The ProblemHowever, at least from the API, (in Renoise it doesn’t seem to fail), when you play the selected loop from the API or from Renoise’s play button (or space key), when the loop plays the last line, it correctly jumps to the first line, but the first line plays it 2 times, and then continues the loop.
That is, listening to the loop hears a repetition of the first line, defined with renoise.song().transport.loop_range[].
All lines in the loop should play only once on each pass, including the first. @taktik can you check this? It seems that the playback of this type of loop fails by playing the first line of the loop twice each time it makes a pass. It’s possible that with a very small loop of 1 or 2 lines it won’t happen. Obviously, it is necessary to have some note of some existing instrument in the first line of the loop to notice it.
It’s a bit strange and quite annoying. I think I can rule out that the problem derives from the LUA tool, because it also happens if you disable the tool, keeping the loop already defined.

Really!? No way to set init devices or VST settings?
Just get to use Renoise as a new tool and really that – by all its complexity – there is no way to set init settings for at least native devices. Why? Is this not solvable? This leads to really unnecessary and repetitive tasks. A simple ini file for each device somewhere in the user library would be great. @taktik is something similar planned?
