Steve Reich - Piano Phase (jeeruff renoise phrase etude)
Hi there,
jeeruff · Steve Reich - Piano Phase (jeeruff Renoise Phrase Demo)I presumed this wonderful piece and renoise phrases are made for each other.
The process of making was not sofisticated:
- make the phrases
- duplicate it with highest resolution
- make the second phrase 1 line shorter
- enjoy the phase bug (which is a feature)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piano_Phase
Software used:
Pianoteq sampled in renoise
Renoise
Hardware:
Macbook Air 11" (becuase of renoise I decided not to get new shiny MBPro and constrain myself and happy about this decision)

CPU usage for each track
Hi all
It would be fabulous if the mixer view had CPU percentage meters at the top of each track. That way it would be easy to single out processor-hungry tracks, rather than just randomly removing VSTs until the CPU meters come down. Perhaps the channel that currently has the most CPU usage could highlight the VST in the mixer chain that has the heaviest usage within that channel.

Doom Synth epic
I feel like I’m spamming, so please let me know if I am. Just polished this one off.
Feel the flow: push the music
This one’s about generational damage as it seems each generation now has fewer and fewer opportunities in life and for their personal connection to others.
Lyrics:
I can’t turn this off
I wanna get the control I can’t stop
You feel, not quite real
And you are behind glass, fully sealed
We are, losing out
We want to find our place here, but we’re not
Our goal, is to live
But existence breaks us, withered skin

Feeling the flow - another percentpercent track
Really feeling the flow at the moment - waking up, coffee, quick bite, then in the studio until nearly midnight and loving it.
This one emerged in just a day which was pretty wild - I’ve been watching how twisted some people’s reality has become as they stay indoors and source their whole worldly experience through their social media, and it drove me to write this. I’m loving the funeral organ vibe as well a classic 80s fade out like it’s on a cassette
My latest - looking at the cyclic nightmare of F-book:
Each adult is worth $54 in advertising per year to the biggest social media network in the world.
This $54 encompasses everything we are and like.
It also damages and destroys us and our society.
Lyrics:
All of my people, all of my stuff,
Worth grand total of 54 bucks
Collect them all up, lock them down
To hand them over, to people who care
I see no reason, to stop now
I need my likes to reward my brain
And those adverts, I like them all
They help my buy stuff, and fill my home
Take my arms off, and remove my feet
I exist to fill my wall
Turn up the contrast, pick a team
Take a picture, and kill them all

Renoise Memory in OSX Spikes to over 50+ Gigs
Using OSX Mojave 10.14.6
Only using 2 short samples from the renoise library in a simple song as I am still learning. I also had a few tools installed, but uninstalled all of them to make sure it was not one of them.
Here is what happens…
I got one sample with an envelope affecting pitch. I saved this envelope as a preset.
As soon as I apply this envelop to the second sample within 15 seconds memory in Renoise spikes to over 50 gigs and continues. I have to force quit. It replicates every time.
I tried to upload the song file, but as a new user it said I am not able to upload.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

Clearer view of note on/off states
It would be nice if Renoise would show some kind of an indicator for those notes that haven’t received note off message, so it’s clear that the note is still playing. Especially useful in case of those notes with Autoseek on that span over several patterns.
Here’s how Sunvox handles it, showing a bar under those notes that are still “on”. It makes things much clearer.

I did a commentary on my producing my EP
Hey,
I released an EP last month and as a bonus track I made a commentary explaining the production techniques and approach to making each track.
I hope you enjoy it - I’d love to know your thoughts!
Best wishes,

Problem when rendering samples from Tyrell N6 VSTi plugin
Hello,
I am experiencing a weird issue with Tyrell N6 and Renoise when I am trying to render my song or render parts from the pattern as samples. Whenever the rendering process is initiated (song or sample), Tyrell N6 plugin resets its Filter MOD1 parameter to its minimum value of -120.0. In most cases, this will make the plugin completely silent. This should not be any kind of demo restriction or anti-piracy method since the plugin is free.
I have tried this on a fresh new song in order to make sure that no hidden instrument automations are triggering the parameter but it behaves the same way. It also does not matter if I try to force Filter MOD1 to a certain value with manual instrument automation, it gets reset to -120 regardless once the rendering process starts, and stays there during the rendering.
I wonder what exactly in the Renoise’s sample rendering triggers this behavior?
I tested this both in Renoise 64-bit 3.1.1 and 3.2.1.

Similar vst to depreciated Stutter tool?
I’m looking for a vst that sounds as close as possible to the amazing depreciated Stutter tool. It was always great for doing these types of effects: https://youtu.be/ulFJ8JBDENk?t=400

Hmmm I wish I could figure out how to cleanly put the link to the bandcamp track in here (thankyou whoever keeps cleaning it up for me after I post). Hopefully this link works properly.
I watched Fight Club the other day, followed by what felt like a week of talking to people who seemed to only be discussing purchases: past present, and future, as a method of communication, so I got wound up, then made this.
All inside Renoise - heavy use of the “repeater” plugin which is very fun. Amazing therapy.
Basis of song:
Collect items, store them in your home ad finitum.
Get set up.
Eat the world.
Lyrics:
Brand phone shoes hair
Pants buds shades rows
Hats shirt jacket mask
I get set up
Brows lips plump ass
Eye tuck thigh gap
Brow pierced tatt sharp
You can’t stop no
Screen big fruit badge
Fast wifi go
Insta tube tok
Get it set up
Fast car mod badge
Thin wheels dark glass
Loud sound paint bright
Make it stop go
House big place shit
Up grade 12 month
Lever price gouge
Climb on one up
Higher taller bigger better
I deserve, I’m like no other
Special me I’m one above
We’ve got to go and get set up
I am elevated now
A level up from all around
I need another something else
So I can be now fully set up
I’ll eat it all, I just don’t care
Destruction is my big forte
It’s mine to take and store away
There is no end, and you all pay

Sync phrases in Renoise
Is there a way to synchronize the lines of the phrases? For example I trigger a phrase from an instrument and then I trigger a second phrase and I would like this second phrase to start on the next line where the first ended instead of starting at the beggining. I know I can use the 0Sxx command but I’m looking for an automatic way to do it

Renoise 3.2.2 failing to parse XML
Hi,
I had this error the other night, it was really strange, and the theme and everything reset to default. and I just tried to use theme import, for this new Dracula theme, and I got the same error
“Failed to parse the XML file.”
I’m just about to reinstall 3.2.2 again.
Optiplex, Win10 pro, Core i5 9500 (6 cores), 16 gigs of ram, ssd 256
Ok, completely uninstalling and reinstalling didn’t do anything to fix this
Cause that Dracula theme looks so cool, and I can’t check it out …

Saving preset vs export effect chain
Obviousely when exporting an effect chain in instrument effects ,it only exports the current chain which is acceptable , but when saving presets again it only saves the current chain , not the whole effects ( all chains)
Why is that?

Windows Task Manager/Resource Monitor showing multiple instances of Renoise
Hi folks
I was using Renoise earlier (3.2.2 x64). I have loaded it twice since booting up my computer (Thinkpad T520 i7, Windows 7 Pro) and closed the application after each use. The Resource Monitor and Windows Task Manager are still showing two Renoise.exe instances as active and it’s still taking up memory, even though the application is not currently open. If I run and quit Renoise a third time, a third instance of it appears in both, and the memory usage goes up again. Pic below.
Is there any reason Renoise “loiters” in the memory, and is there any way of stopping this happening if it shouldn’t be occurring? My CPU usage seems to be higher than it should be - wondering if that’s something to do with this.
Cheers!
Ben

UI scaling creates a "white border" around windows atop main window at 225% scaling
I submitted a case via Backstage, but Backstage does not allow for screenshots to be attached to cases.
I’m running Renoise 3.2.2 on macOS 10.15.6 with HiDPI mode enabled at 225% scaling, and there is a subtle white border atop windows that are atop the main window.

Alternative for Voxengo Sample Delay?
Hi,
I need a simple “buffer-delay” vst that fills in a specific PDC amount. There is voxengo latency delay, but it is useless for me, because it always introduces a PDC of 200ms. Any idea for me? Help please!

What's your average track count?
Just curious… I feel like my average track count is always low. 12 - 18 tracks at the most (includes sends/returns)
