Random Instrument Subsamples [RESOLVED]
This may already have an answer somewhere - I’m not sure/looking in the wrong places.
Earlier, I attempted to load up a couple of samples in an instrument and I’m wondering how to switch between the samples at will in the tracker interface - is there something I’m overlooking? If this is the wrong forum subgroup, sorry!
Edit: Figured it out! In the Sampler > Keyzones tab, there’s an EXTREMELY small selection menu at the bottom right that shows “Overlap” settings.

Replace note without replacing velocity calue
I almost feel ashamed for asking after 15 years of renoise usage .
But is there a way to insert ( replace ) a note without replacing the velocity value ?

BeRoSequencer (yet another DAW)
I just saw this from Revision Demoparty 2021 Youtube Channel.
Seems cool with realtime singing text-to-speech based on MBROLA project.

heyo~
got a new psy tune more or less complete. tried a bunch of new (to me) techniques in the sound design for this one. All native renoise dsp, adventure kid waveforms, and a couple of singen0.3 generated fm sounds. All the percussion I’ve synthesized as well.
feedbackand constructive criticism is welcome! lmk what you think!

My old Beatbattle 5 entry
Damn, this was a long time ago.

But I must admit, aside from the singing, this track was quite solid

Recommended commercial VST's
There has been a thread like this for freeware plugins for ages, but i think it’s about time we get one for recommended commercial plugins.
Recommend your favorite plugins and tell us a bit about them, pros and cons, is it worth the price and how well does it perform in Renoise?
I think this thread also has room for sharing special offers on plugins.
I don’t own a whole lot of VST plugins, so my recommendations are limited, but here are a few:
Waves: OVox
This is a vocoder with sequencers envelopes and LFOs, you can even use the amplitude/pitch/pan spectrum curves to modulate just about anything. It’s got note mapping, pitch correction, voice pitch recognition, a powerful EQ effects like delay, reverb, chorus, compressor and distortion. You can choose pitch following or you can control it with MIDI. You can choose between lots of different chords setups or you can program your own. If you sing a specific note you can easily program it to sound like any chord or note you want’ just select the note you want to change and then click on the keys you want it to sound like.
You can do a whole lot of sound design with this, not only limited to vocals. You can for instance turn a drum loop into a nice melody or an alien breakbeat.
Works in Renoise, it’s GUI slows down the Renoise GUI, but that seems to happen with most Waves plugins. It has crashed a couple of times, but usually it works fine.
It might not be the best vocoder on the market, but this is so much more than just vocoding, so if you specifically want the best and most ‘authentic’ vocoder sounds this might not be for you.
Waves: Abbey Road TG Mastering Chain
I won a copy of UltraChannel a few years back and i thought this plugin was something similar, just 5 times cheaper or so, thought i could give it a shot as i got a special offer.
The difference between these plugins is that UltraChannel sounds like native Renoise effects in comparison. This plugin just works and it sounds great. It comes with a lot of presets which is easy to tweak to you preference.

New Phaser Modes: Unidirectional (Down,Up) and Step (by LFO)
Requesting, @taktik , new phaser modes.
-
Phaser mode: Unidirectional (Down, Up)
The phaser would phase unidirectional.
This can be achieved by mixing in the phase. -
- Down: high → low
The phase is mixed in and moves continuously from high to low.
- Down: high → low
-
- Up: low → high
The phase is mixed in and moves continuously from low to high
- Up: low → high
-
Phaser mode: Step (controlled by LFO enveloppe)
The phaser would not move its phase.
You can control the phase with a LFO enveloppe and connect that to the phasers’ Phase. -
- Step:
- Step:
-
Phaser mode: None
The phaser would phase normal, as it operates in Renoise already.

Renoise not following System Dark Mode
Hello,
hope that’s a easy one to fix.
Mac OS is set to Dark Mode and I’m also using a dark theme on Renoise.
When using plugins the title and bottom bar of the plugin window are bright white. Most plugins nowadays are also rather dark, so it kinda looks odd and distracting.
Also all file dialogs for open, save,… are bright, so I assume Renoise simply just doesn’t follow system settings in that regard.
It probably isn’t just a switch you enable in the code, but I guess it can’t be that hard to change that. It would be really nice

Renoise for ARM64, PLEASE!
Hi. I’m really enjoying my Raspberry Pi 400 (with 64-bit Raspberry Linux OS) computer lately. I am even considering to stick to this computer exclusively and only! Because everything works (even my Bluetooth controllers and USB audio interface). I’m leaving even Mac(s) (after using them exclusively for nearly ~18 years now).
I can pay twice for Renoise, but this: make it ARM64 ready, please.

Multi-channel audio file
Does the API currently recognise audio files that have more than 2 channels (i.e. 8/16 channels) - can it read a file header and decide what to do with the data?
The idea being that you could load a multi-channel file and split it into separate instruments.
cheers

Gleetchlab 2021
I just found this piece of software, and thought fellow Renoisers might also dig it. It’s like a DAW without a timeline or sequencer. So far I’ve managed to make some interesting textures from existing samples, which I then import into Renoise, so I’m not really using the "DAW"capabilities yet, but I can see how it could be used to create a while track. It’s a lot of fun! Enjoy
