Low pass clean in filter in filter module please
Can we have the lowpass-hp-bp clean filter module in the instruments section included the filter module please ?
I really like it and reminds me a lot of the sem filter .
And no it’s not the one in the digital filter module

Where to download free seamless patterns tiling textures?
Hello,
In order to make Renoise textures, we need to use seamless patterns tiling textures. In the past, I used to find easily those kind of graphical resources on a website called GRSites. This site has shutdowned a few years ago. By chance the free textures are available on the Internet Archive Wayback Machine. Here is the URL where you can still download a ZIP containing all the free textures.
https://archive.org/details/grsites-textures
Now it’s cool, but the pictures are old, often small, sometimes in bad quality. Thanks to @Jalex who requested a skulls & bones texture, I searched the web and realized that it is flooded with not-free graphical resources. So my question is: do you know some good websites to download free (let’s say royalty-free) textures, without having to create an account or to pay for a monthly subscription?
Thanks!

How to avoid renoise to try to start jack automatically when the last card is not found
I rarely use jack, I always prefer to use alsa cards directly, becouse I don’t need to interconnect other audio applications. But sometimes when my usb audio card is unplugged and the laptop internal card is set to be the main output by pipewire when I start renoise it tries to activate jack which works… but messes up pipewire so that I have to fix it every time by using this command: systemctl --user restart wireplumber pipewire pipewire-pulse
So is there a way to avoid renoise to fall back on jack?

JACK doesn't work in Renoise (OpenSUSE Tumbleweed)
Description
When i try to set up JACK on Renoise in OpenSUSE Tumbleweed, there’s no audio at all. When i checked the console output of Renoise it reveals that it failed to connect the ports for some reason i don’t know about.
Steps to reproduce
- Launch Renoise
- Go to “Edit” in the navigation bar, which then will reveal a panel that leads you to “preferences”
- On Preferences, go to the Audio settings. On Device Settings, in device type set jack
- Try to make any sound from the program
Expected results
There should be audio working with JACK on Renoise just fine
Actual results
What was described earlier happens. No audio at all

Save at config, not at exit
Both Config.xml and KeyBindings.xml seem to be written when I exit Renoise, not when I close the Preferences dialog.
If you speed up the BPM and Renoise abnormally terminates, for example, you will lose the settings you have made so far.
It would be great if it would be written when setting up or closing the Preference dialog.

Octamed note echo
Octamed Soundstudio used to have a note echo feature where you could input the number of steps after which a note would be echoed, set the volume drop for each echo. You would then select a range or track where you had some notes input already and apply it by hitting the ‘echo’ button. New notes would be generated in the selected range which would act like echoes of the original notes. For instance if I selected a track with just a C written in position 1, echoing it with a delay of 3 would put in a new note every 3 steps thereafter, each with the specified volume drop. By layering multiple note echoes with different delays you could make some really cool effects. Something like this would be a great feature on Renoise, especially if you could also apply it to things like VST parameters or MIDI control codes etc.

Realtime song render you can hear in realtime
On some tracks I like to manually tweak dials on my MIDI controlled analogue gear which is being routed to Renoise thru line in DSPs. Even though Renoise’s real time song renderer records external MIDI sources in real time, it doesn’t let me hear what’s being recorded during rendering which makes recording tweaks complete guesswork. I currently to use a digital recorder to record these tracks instead. Any chance of a monitor ON/OFF button in the song rendering options that would allow you to select whether you can hear what is being recorded by the real time renderer? This might also be useful for people that want to manually play keyboards parts or theremins or whatever.

Controlling volume on a sum channel
(aka confused by Signal Follower)
I am trying to control volume on a channel via signal follower.
I have a mix track that receives both a dry drum track and the drum run through FX chain.
I am trying to automate the control of the overall drum volume on the combined signal. Automatically pulling down the level if the combined signal spikes. Really struggling to get the signal follower working.
I have a sidechain-style effect, where signal gets pulled way down, but I just want something more subtle. I’ve been playing with the same idea on just the FX track as it is the main contributor to volume.
Potentially a much simpler way of doing this but I have no idea.

Pre filter vol control
I was always under the impression the the volume field ( indicated by red square ) was post filter but it is not .
It’s pre filter , increasing the volume will automatically increase the amount of waveshaping .(screenshot 2 )
The only way to have a post volume is to make a dedicated fx lane or use the mixer .

Please fix the envelopes
I really want to bring this under the attention again .
It’ so frustrating when using a short attack -decay time (in combi) and a full mulitplier amount .
The maximum stage is never reached , the decay or attack stage needs be to be longer
This is ot just for the filter (also ringmod etc…) it’s an envelope issue and really hope it gets fixed

See sample on the "Edit" screen (at the top by the spectrum etc.)
A lot of people have said they would like to see waveforms in the editor, like other DAWs. Personally, I came to Renoise because it was a tracker, and having waveforms in the actual tracks seems to me like it’ll look very convoluted and difficult to follow.
However, I would like to be able to see the waveform somewhere. One can always click on “sample” while things are playing, but I find this extra step a little distracting, and then you can’t really see exactly where you are in the track compared to where the sample is. (It’s nice to track them side-by-side, especially if you’re dealing with long samples - guitar parts, for instance).
I think a very simple and easy-to-implement solution would be to also have the sample appear at the top of the ‘edit’ screen just like the attached screenshot. You can then switch between ‘track scopes’ and the ‘spectrum’ pane, and have another pane, simply ‘sample’. Then you can see your sample playing in real-time. It simply plays the samples in whatever track you’re selected on OR maybe just plays whatever sample you select in the instrument pane (the latter will probably be less confusing if you have multiple samples on one track). If you push spacebar to pause, the line will pause in the sample wherever you are in the track (like it does already in the sampler). You can now match where the sample is in the track with your eye quickly. What would be cool then is if you could mark the sample right there in the pane and it would create flags in the sample - so if you then go to the sampler you can cut or change as necessary.
This would be especially helpful when recording. Perhaps even you could see the waveform fill up while recording. You’re then bringing some of the other (classic?) DAW elements in without breaking the tracker concept and creating some weird Frankenstein. I think it’ll be a very easy solution to implement as well, it doesn’t require a massive change or rethink of the process.

Running Renoise remotely (or running it more efficiently)
Hi!
I’ve been using Renoise for some years now (since 2020) and absolutely love it.
I’m still running on the same laptop since 2020 however! In the beginning it was surprisingly sufficient (it’s an i5 laptop with only 4GB memory) but from 3.4.1 it seems to use more CPU on the CPU bar than before. No complaints, I realize a lot of improvements have been made which may be more taxing, and that’s just the way of tech.
I’m still not in the position to get a new laptop unfortunately. However, I do have a gaming PC set up in my lounge, which my family and I use to play Steam games. It’s a pretty powerful PC, so running Renoise on there with all my VST’s etc. will probably work pretty well.
However, since it’s set up in the lounge, it doesn’t really work for me. I’ve been wondering about running Renoise remotely when my family are not using the PC. That way I could use the mobility of my laptop, able to set up on my desk, or even at work, and use the power of the PC.
It’s kind of a tall order, I know, but I thought I would ask if anyone thinks it’s possible or if anyone has tried this.
The issue is INPUT. I record guitar parts, vocal parts through my audio interface. I record keys and synth parts using my midi keyboard. Obviously, I can’t seem to get it to input via my laptop remotely to Renoise on the PC. I can’t seem to figure out a way to do this, although I imagine it must be technically possible somehow.
Anyone got experience with this? Or at least got any tips to try run Renoise more efficiently? (The “freeze track” / render sample (have also tried SamRender) option in Renoise does not seem to really work to save CPU - in fact it sometimes makes it worse as the samples can be quite long).
Would appreciate any advice anyone has
Thank you!

Lua Loops - A Comprehensive Guide
Here are the different types of loops in Lua:
- while loop: A while loop executes a block of code as long as a condition is true. The syntax for a while loop is:
while condition do -- code block end
- for loop: A for loop executes a block of code for a specific number of times. The syntax for a for loop is:
for i = start, end, step do -- code block end
- repeat until loop: A repeat until loop executes a block of code until a condition is true. The syntax for a repeat until loop is:
repeat -- code block until condition
- do while loop: A do while loop executes a block of code at least once, and then executes it again as long as a condition is true. The syntax for a do while loop is:
do -- code block while condition do -- code block end
Here is an example of a while loop:
local i = 1 while i <= 10 do print(i) i = i + 1 end
This loop will print the numbers from 1 to 10.
Here is an example of a for loop:
for i = 1, 10 do print(i) end
This loop will also print the numbers from 1 to 10. However, the for loop is more concise and easier to read.
Here is an example of a repeat until loop:
local i = 1 repeat print(i) i = i + 1 until i > 10
This loop will print the numbers from 1 to 10, but in reverse order.
Here is an example of a do while loop:
local i = 1 do print(i) i = i + 1 end while i <= 10
This loop is similar to the while loop, but it will always execute the block of code at least once.

I hope this helps!

The account was not delete because of any copyright infringements, but because of hate speech
So be careful what you upload to soundcloud or better look for an alternative.
