How do people create themes?
I’m new to Renoise and after using a couple of pre-made themes, I wanna make my own where I’m comfortable with the sight of colors and all
I can’t seem to find any tutorials on how to do this…
Anybody with the knowledge to help?

MIDI Export (yet again)
I know this has ben mentioned before (I think it is quite worth another post, especially after all this time of pretty much nothing done)… but seriously we really really need midi export that can produce midis usable for MS GM, XG, MT32, ect. So many users would benfit from this, the tool that exists simply does not cut it - we need more support for program changes and ccs and other stuffs. The framework is all there, we have the inst. midi control effect that does wonders with vst control. All we need is for those to be exported. I love everything else about Renoise, but in this it falls short. Like I’ve said here before, OpenMPT does better at midi export… and it’s not even a proper daw like Renoise is. Midi support for the people, I say!!! I really hope we get midi export with the next release, this is what I am paying for. I don’t have a lot of income but I would quite seriously pay what little I have to make this happen. I’m sure there are users who are on the fence that would join the Renoise fever with this added in. (This is a hill I am willing to die on.)
Besides midi files, this would be very useful for working with others who use other DAWs.
of note, this is also quite important, I have hit it when using the edirol orchestral vst:

Small midi timing issue on Windows 11 with DirectSound, R3.4.2
I’ve attached a demo song. Just play it through all 4 patterm’s. When it jumps back to the first pattern, its missing the timing of one of the notes. Only happens with Directsound driver. ASIO and WASAPI are working fine or its atleast not reproducible with this test song.
VST Cthulu is needed.

Linux as webdev workhorse machine - A complete mess?
This is purely subjective. I was thinking about using Linux as main os at some point. Back in the days, the problem I had with it mainly were compatibility and availability issues of software. But nowadays, Linux seems to me a total mess.
I am using Ubuntu with a Lenovo notebook at work. Neither browsers work stable (tons of memory leaks), nor the OS. Very often new “security” updates will destroy the amd display driver, or break something else. Then it is full of bugs, which never seem to be fixed. The graphical performance is pretty bad, it just can’t handle any 4k resolution properly. I actually hate how much time is wasted by fixing Ubuntu all the time.
The only positive I found is the raw performance when it comes to terminal commandos like Docker. This indeed works quite fast. Though recent updates on macos/m1 seem to be faster here already (if the docker container is ported to m1, which now is the case for most stuff).
So it seems to me that the quality of Linux drastically was lowered in the last years. When I tried Linux years ago, at least the graphics were very snappy all the time.
Is this a wrong impression? Is there some other derivate Linux which is more “business-compatible” than Ubuntu? I use that standard desktop manager of Ubuntu, should I switch it? Will then the amd drivers still work? Chrome seems to be a total mess as Linux version, is Firefox any better? Is there a proper email client?

Who clicked my new songs as spam?
Who clicked my new songs as spam?
And what moderator decided to delete the post thereafter?
I created a post with new exclusive material.
The post got marked as spam and deleted.
I deleted ChordLord from the tools section as answer.
I want the moderator to delete any existing copy of the .xrnx tool on the forum.

Buzz like view of dsp effects/plugins and even sample modulations
I’ve seen old thread from 2011, but despite this i would like to hear people’s thoughts on such idea.
And yeah, this is the only thing i like in Buzz, everything else is better in Renoise for sure.
I think that such approach will ease song creation and increase ergonomics tremendously.
What’s your opinion on that?

Automating filters in Akai S2000?
Hi
I can automate LFO1, Pitchbend & Program Change on my Akai S2000 through Renoise, but cannot get the amazing deep filter to be automated ?
Is there a way ?
I see Daddyabe did one on the S3000XL but not the S2000. Ive never been able to find the breath control or modwheel midi commands in any DAW ive used strangely.
Can anyone help ?
Cheers

New I.D. Crisis demo - The Watcher
Hi folks - new demo from me, called The Watcher.
As usual, I wrote it using my headphones and it sounds pretty fine through them - sounds a lot worse when I listen on Mac internal speakers though. Probably needs a bit more mixing and fettling. Let me know what you think. Cheers - I.D. Crisis

Timing Jitter Feature for Sampler
I recently purchased TAL-Drum, and one nice feature it has is adjustable timing jitter:
This randomises the trigger timing by a set amount, which when combined with the “Analog” pitch randomisation, really goes a long way to give a subtle amount of humanisation to grid programmed rhythms.
I usually do something like this for pitch randomisation:
… but as far as I can tell there isn’t an easy way to achieve slight timing randomisation. To get something close, I usually use the Humanise modifier on the Delay column:
… but this is often inconvenient when you’re in the thick of the tracking process, because you need to be careful to always include the randomised Delay value when you’re moving / delete / creating notes. If it could be something which is always happening in the background on a per-instrument basis, that would be much more convenient. (Or possibly even something you set together with the Global Groove settings - although that’s maybe not as useful as this being a selective effect).
I think this would be a really useful feature for those times when you want to introduce a bit of “slop” to complement the strict grid timing of a tracker.

Random Theme Option
It’d be neat if there was a check box under settings for selecting a random theme every time Renoise was opened. Not really mandatory, I know, I just like changing the theme every so often and I think it does spark creativity nonetheless.
Also what is your favorite theme?

ReWire Replacement for MacOS?
Since ReWire is dead (and as such, not compatible with ARM based Macs) does anyone know of any plugins or other software that could route audio from and sync Renoise to other applications? I tried to get Jack working but from my understanding Renoise only supports Jack on Linux versions.
I’m looking to link up Renoise and Logic X.

Changing BPM with mouse, cursor hits top of screen
When changing the BPM by dragging it with mouse, the mouse cursor hits the top of the screen and stops so you have to do it multiple times if you want to drag BPM up more than ~10 beats, this is with Renoise 3.4.1-3.4.2 at least, but in Renoise 3.3.2 it works the way it’s supposed (imo) to work, so when you drag it, the mouse cursor disappears and you can drag it as far up as you wish
