Give a "IK Multimedia - Black 76 Limiting Amplifier"
I had it for free and I don’t need it because I have “Total Studio MAX 2” box
Who will answer?
IK license can be “setuped” 10 time
Also give “Pulsar Smasher”

Slice to instrument
Forgive me if this has been asked before but is there a way in Renoise to add your slices as instruments? Not in the sampler but selectable instruments for tracks? Also I never use the mouse and I think that is SO awesome

New music platform
Hey hey. My buddy created this new music platform where you put your music out and its minted as nfts. Honestly im not to up on all blockchain stuff but its a cool way to put your music out and it puts all the power in the hands of the artists.
Check it out at

Bug: VST3 preset/settings lost when copy/paste with certain plugins
Description
If you copy/paste/duplicate some specific VST3 plugins, the settings of the plugin will be lost. This only happens in Renoise, not in Bitwig.
Steps to reproduce
- Load Spectre VST3/macos version, make some preset adjustments
- Copy the dsp, and paste it to another track. Settings of the copy should be in initialized state again.
- Repeat the same in Bitwig. It should copy/paste just normally.

Record samples directly in sampler waveform window
Sample recorder window is neat and does the job but while live recording stuff it would be nice to see the wave form like a waveform in the sampler. Much like using the draw tool and like any other DAW does audio recording to tracks.
Recording controls may be put into a dropdown or accordion style toggle space in the waveform controls bar at the top which gets activated when record button clicked instead of showing them in a separate window.

Clipper oversampling nonsense?
Hi,
I was thinking about clippers… Those often come with oversampling options. I think I really tried all available. To my ears, clipping only works on a bus or even master, because then the added distortion will be somehow masked in the mash of full band sounds… So also only if you mix fullband-width-alike, not classic or so
But when it comes to the oversampling options, in the end I always tend to use no oversampling. Why it is even provided, I don’t get this: Clipping is clipping, cutting of the waveforms in a very rigit way. Why should oversampling help here? Will the curve then smoothed out over some samples? Still it would result in drastical distortion on the transients. It will alias as hell, no matter of oversampling… Seems to be a voodoo topic to me.
And then do you ever use soft clipping, which simply is “fading in” the clipping? I only seem to like Renoise’s own soft clipper, sometimes it actually improves the sound, but I cannot tell under which conditions this is (Also its annoying the soft clipper is not available as device simply). What was interesting maybe, would be a softclipper connected to an env follower, or lets say a waveshaper. Maybe this is what a FET compressor actually does…
There are a lot of tutorials (also by quite skilled people) in which they use clippers everywhere esp. on the drums, the single drums, then the bus, then the master… I don’t like that harsh, edgy sound, would only fit to hard genres, IMHO. For example, in Baphy’s videos, the clipping ruins the dynamics, more specifically the sound of the transients. Maybe you need very good, fast responding monitors to have a clue what coloration the transients have. On the other hand, clipping was a thing in a lot of Amiga tunes, and it sounded great.
What are your finding with clippers? Do you use it regularly? On what kind of sounds, or only selective for specific genres? Do you use oversampling? I hope we can start some discussion about the topic here!

_Polartimecast * Patient (Hillbilly Thrill Version)
Good tidings to you.
New to the scene
Have released a few singles as _Polartimecast, but here’s the latest.
Using Renoise renders as a base, I did a bit of live editing and added some DSPs.

FM8 and Massive VST presets not saving
Hi!
I just bought Renoise and its wonderful!
That said…when I open up saved songs my VST presets for Massive and FM8 aren’t loading!
In the plugin side-panel, the Program drop-down simply says “disabled” – is there any way I can fix this? Alternately, could these VSTs simply be too old?
Thanks so much,
-Valerie

Cdp tool not working
I used the cdp tool a lot in the past bt for some reason it doesn’t work on my new laptop
I extracted all the files into a separate folder , cdprogs being the most important since this houses all the cdp processes .
The Lua cdp tool shows all the process but no processing is happening at all when executing
But no luck this far

How would I use this in Renoise (Reason Rack Plug-in)
Hello,
Example one in the demo uses the Scales and Chords “player” to print the notes into Ableton. How could I use it to print the chords onto a Renoise channel? It’s a really powerful tool. I’m not great with MIDI routing in Renoise never really having had to use it. Thanks for any help in advance.

FET compressor VST, which one?
Hi,
any idea for a good FET compressor plugin? I tried the softube’s one, it is amazing, though it has ilok protection and very expensive, a price like a synth… Do you know similar sounding plugins?
Also if you have experience with compressor types, please share your thoughts here, thanks!

Some ideas to play with.
The latest episode of Sound + Voltage takes a look at Euclidean Rhythms – a way of using math to describe beats that are distributed as evenly as possible, and how this is a feature of many common musical rhythms from around the world.

Sidechain signal not PDC compensated
Not sure if this already was a topic: If I send a sidechain signal from a track which introduces PDC, the signal at the receiver device will not be compensated, but instead delayed… Shouldn’t this be compensated?
I think it should be compensated at the receiving device in the sidechain, before the signal actually flows into the device, not at the sending channel (because the sending channel already has that amount of PDC).

Modal VST3 for hardware synth does not show
Hi fam!
I just got a modal cobalt 8 hardware synth which comes with a VST3 interface and a standalone inteface (which works no prob). I can open the VST3 in Ableton but it won’t show in the VST plugins on renoise (yes i installed in the right vst directory, yes i allowed renoise to have vst3) Do you have any idea about wtf is going on?

VST yabridge issues on Linux
Hi,
No VST and VST3 plugins using yabridde work with Renoise.
Linux hp 6.0.2-arch1-1 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Sat, 15 Oct 2022 14:00:49 +0000 x86_64 GNU/Linux
Renoise 3.4.2
Wine 7.19
I tried with https://www.fullbucket.de/music/whispair.html and https://feelyoursound.com/houseengine/ both crash Renoise.
Any tip?

Transfering plugin list structure from one mac to another M1 mac
Hi,
I would like to transfer my plugin list structure to another Renoise installation. Normally I do that by simply copying CachedVSTs_x64.db, CachedAUs_x64.db and CachedVST3s_x64.db to the prefs dir on the new computer, Renoise then would reorganize / remove missing plugins at next plugin scan, by keeping the wanted tree structure.
Strangely this does not seem to work on the M1 machine… Are M1 supporting plugins somehow stored in a different way? I can find all those .db files with a _arm64 suffix on the M1 machine… So would it be possible to simply rename the above files to _arm64. and then do a rescan?
But then some questions arise… How exactly is the storing of plugin info done? If a plugin supports both, x64 and arm64, will it be then stored to both .db files at once?
It seems to me kind of a suboptimal approach that there are db-files per cpu architecture, and not a single db then, with architecture flags per entry maybe… Also the cpu types are already there in the db files… I am confused

Not exactly Renoise related but ... i need help or a big kick
I started to write a library for working with 2D matrices, but something is wrong at the very beginning.
And now I need that kick
Why does matrix “a” not add up to “b”?
Thanks
Seems to add “b” + “b”

AUHostingCompatibilityService process
Whilst using Dexed AU on this M1 machine, I was getting lost of crackles and pops, particularly when automating a few parameters, so I checked the activity monitor and spotted a AUHostingCompatibilityService process was running with a relatively high cpu % usage.
I never seen this before, but is this standard, or is the Dexed plugin somehow requiring a wrapper of some kind to run?
I’m using a nightly build of Dexed as I was having issues with the stable release 0.9.6 (Releases · asb2m10/dexed · GitHub). Appears to be a bug that was crashing the host (Renoise) when un-mounting the plugin.
