[BUG] Volume Column - 3.4.1
Video : Renoise Volume Column Bug - YouTube
Sorry for the low volume of my mic, here the explanation:
BUG: When change the VOLUME in the VOLUME COLUMN it kills the sample.
Important to know, this is a old track from 2008 which I’m porting to 3.4.1 to do some tweeks to render and master for release, it’s was working PERFECT in the old versions of Renoise.
Back to the bug…
The first exemple show working fine when keeps the same values, but when it changes simply kills the wave as you can see.
In the other exemple with the vocals (sorry that I take a little time to figure out, I did this track in 2008 and was remembering how I did)
I have 2 takes in this case, 1 it’s a full verse take with a not so good start, then I have another take with just the start of that verse.
So I keep the original take starting as VOLUME 00 at the same time I start the other take with VOLUME 80 in other track, so when the other take ends, I set the VOLUME to 80 at the full take and keeps until the end of that verse.
But in that case, the full take never starts, which is wrong. If I try to do a fade in didn’t work as well.
So there’s a bug in the volume column which is not working right.
- when change the volume kills the sample
- if start with 00 never starts
Please fix ASAP.
thanks
PS: I already know how to have the same result in other ways, but I don’t want to change several of my tracks again, since I already did that to OF0 works which stopped since 3.0.0.

Osirus-en-Vexin by Divine Electronics
Not much to say here, sequenced in Renoise, the sounds are mostly VSTs such as DSP56300 Emulation Blog and some Korg Monotron for Effects… Enjoy

Learning about sample-loops/ahmens removed my interest in Break-Beat music
It was like a “Santa Claus is not real, it’s uncle Bob who puts the presents there” moment.
Naive young me, many years ago: thought that the drum bars, solos and loops in jungle/breakbeat/breakcore etc types of music were recorded with a drummer, or someone played it on midi-pads or someone programmed a drumm-achine to do all the ‘Td-Bum-Bum-Thssh-D-Tp-Tpm-Thsss’ stuff - note by note on an editor grid.
Now I can’t listen to that stuff - I just see Renoise or FL Studio patterns.

Hiding delay column
quick question… does hiding the delay column make it inactive or does it still work even if not shown?

Pitch and generate drum kit button
Hi,
This may be a stupid question but once I’ve loaded in some samples and used the generate drum kit option, is there an easy way to still be able to pitch each sample up or down?
Thanks in advance (sorry coming back to Renoise after a long stint on Eurorack)

Mac or Windows for Renoise
In serious need of a new Laptop.
Trying to stream and record with OBS and run Renoise and my little HP just can’t handle it sadly Even converting my plugins to samples and using the lowest settings on OBS.
So any experienced users who stream/record and use Renoise? I’m exclusively Renoise with a few plugins that are pretty hungry(Phase Plant, Arcade, Kontakt)
My budget is about $800. Let the old war continue. I’d like to hear pros and cons of both

Batch midi mapping?
So… I bought a couple midi controllers recently.
I have about 186 renoise xrns projects in the folder.
I have a gig coming up next Saturday and figured out how to open multiple instances of Renoise to sort of DJ between them (really fun, thanks everyone).
Is there a way to set midi mapping parameters as a preference that autoloads for every xrns?
Will I have to go through all 186 files and repeat the mapping process?
My goal would be to have, say, a repeater, shelving unit and lofimat on each master track and have the midi controller effect the renoise instance that was currently engaged/selected.
possible?

i used a Rode NT1-A mic for recording.

How to recreate this main melody synth?
https://www.youtube.com/embed/9Ty-qFZZPZk
Hi, i want to recreate this main melody synth from the beginning of the song listed above, however i can’t seem to recreate it properly.
I try to recreate it using sawtooth wave that has 6 voice unison layers and low detune, automate the envelope to make it plucky and make another envelope to automate the analog filters to go from highs to the mid-highs, add some effects like distortion and multi-band compression to it, and then randomize the pitch to go randomly from 0.00 to 0.20 semitones, however it doesn’t sound like it’s close to the original sound at all. I really like the synth and would love to use it in my future compositions, anyone could help? I’m using Serum and Vital.

Keyboard shortcuts with Logitech MX master mouse issue
I am using an Logitech MX master mouse on a mac with Renoise, it is possible to assign single key shortcuts to the mouse but not more than a single key shortcut, if anyone thinks they might have a solution I would be super pleased

Plugin grabber is very slow compared to rendering to sample
I’m rendering a plugin to a new instrument, it’s set up to render a single sample for ~3 seconds, looping is not set. It takes about 3 seconds to finish. When I set up a note in the sequencer for 3 seconds and render it, it completes in the blink of an eye.
I did another test with 10 seconds, and the sequencer render to sample took about a second, whereas render plugin to samples took about 10 seconds.
It’s almost as if render plugin to sample is happening in real time rather than using an offline render.
Is that the case? And if so, is there a way to offline render so that it goes a lot faster? I want to render a bunch of bigger instruments, and would prefer if it went faster like it does on sequencer render.

Because you start with good intentions, but it’s a tracker and you end up making loud break choppage…

No sound with Superwave VST's
Hi,
I’m having an issue when using the Superwave Equinoxe (or any other VSTs of Superwave) with Renoise: there’s no sound and I cannot register the free edition --pushing the Register button in the VST window has no result.
I did start Renoise with admin rights (per [Solved] No Sound With Superwave? ), but there’s still no sound.
Further, setting admin rights for AudioPluginServer32 and AudioPluginServer64 didn’t change anything.
Toggling the “run plug-ins in separate memory space” option also didn’t improve anything.
There is CPU activity while running the plugin and the note-on commands appear to reach it.
Both x86 and x64 versions of the VST plug-in exhibit the same behavior.
I tried Renoise versions 2.8, 3.2.1, 3.4.0 and 3.4.2, all with the same outcome.
My OS is Win10 x64.
Any hint is more than welcome
Thank you!
