Renoise Forum

Today I couldn’t log into the forum. Suddenly the message was “Incorrect username, email or password”. Of course I haven’t changed anything, so I was forced to create a new password. I wanted to use the old one, but it wasn’t possible because the forum says it’s too short. What happened? It would be nice if the users would receive some information if there are any changes overnight. Anyone else facing this?

I do understand that Renoise doesn’t claim to import/play MOD files 100% correctly - but I tried anyway and I wonder:

Why do the notes transposed down by 2 octaves and 5 semitones?
Is there any explanation for that?
My first assumption was that the reason are the different sample rates of Renoise (44.100 Hz) vs. MOD (8.000 Hz?) but 2 octaves and 5 ST should be a factor around 5.34 (I think) and this doesn’t match.

Funny thing is: All the MODs I tried get played more or less correctly (besides minor adjustments like correcting the volume in the sample properties - which -INF db sometimes).

Hi there,

my new album “Providence” by Nomiloth has been released. The style is melodic/epic doom metal with clean vocals. I used Renoise for all composition, arranging, drums, synths and soundscapes, the mixing and mastering was done in Ardour.

Hi. This morning I tried booting up Renoise several times, tried restarting windows but every time was greeted with a crash, then looked at the LOG file and saw it happens every time when instantiating Soundtoys Effectrack (VST2) in my template but that’s odd as I have changed nothing from when I used it just last night.

So I updated to the newest version (EffectRack5_5.4.1.17134_64.exe) and now it at least boot into Renoise but gets a modal window saying “The following plugins could not be found or failed to open”, then I tried the VST3 version I just installed together when updating and that appears to work, but then I have hundreds of unfinished songs made with VST2 and I will get a missing plugins info so much I get dizzy just by the thought of having to recreate the settings in the VST3 version.

Here’s a bit of the log.txt from when opening a XRNS that use Effectrack VST2 and where I tried instatiate VST3 version too

Struggling with how to get Renoise to let me use the pitchbend wheel on my midi controller to do pitchbends. The midi monitor acknowledges pitchbend messages from my controller but work when I use it on the pattern and instrument editor. How do I set it up to work in Renoise?

Hello,
Here is a hastily created rhythm converter from Patternarium by SonicCharge for uTonic to Renoise phrases.
It’s basic without settings and gui for now.

I thought I would make it another part of AlmostDrumsNG, but I decided that it would be a separate tool.
So far, it can only convert basic things into phrases, but it surprised me already.
There are already over 28k files for Patternarium, so there is a lot to choose from.

I also wanted to create a copy of uTonic natively for Renoise,
but it’s quite complex and it’s not samples
So I’ll focus on settings and other techniques to convert it better.

I’m looking for remixes for this track of mine for an upcoming release

If anyone here wants to take a crack at it, stems are here for the next 2 weeks:

ANY STYLE is welcome, although dance music is preferred. experimental/glitch/ambient takes on it will also be appreciated!

I’ll post the xrns here as well, if you’d like to work directly from that. Plenty of alien technology to reverse engineer in it, if you like Just don’t steal/repost anything from the xrns please without asking me first.

All sample based synthesis and renoise native dsp, so there shouldn’t be compatibility issues aside from a utility plugin here or there.

Brainworx, iZotope, Plugin Alliance and Native Instruments will merge under the roof of Native Instruments. Have a look:

Which means I will never buy anything from iZotope again. Anything you’ll buy from these companies has to be installed by using the Native Access in future, which doesn’t even work on my computer (I tried it a couple of years ago when I was interested in getting inSIDious), not even the workaround you can find in the web. So these news suck. But maybe someone here is interested nontheless and likes the news. I know there are a lot of NI fans out there, even though I don’t get it.

re-use with another instrument

a gOod way to save a bulk, that you’ve collated, specifying what the phrases was used for.

My quite new ipad with ios 14.6 just was kicked out this forum, “browser too old”. I think you are slightly exaggerating the requirements. Or is this specified by the forums hoster? I can’t see any technical reason why even a 10 year old system shouldn’t be able to render this forum…?

a way where we can contribute phrases / project / presets / instruments,_ individually, and download keep updated easy, keep a full backup.
where we all have folders on a ftp and can upload through renoise forum, and it only accepts the renoise formats.
