Note-off velocities?
@delt wrote:
I just got a keyboard which sends different note-off velocities depending how fast you take your fingers off the keys. These are NOT received by pianoteq when it’s a VST plugin instance in renoise, only note-off of 64 ever gets sent to plugins!!!

More descriptive "Edit" -> "Undo" menu item
@delt wrote:
It’s really nice that the Undo menu item says Undo [what] …but if it had more detail it would be even better. Like “Undo change value” isn’t really useful because i have no idea what value was changed if i don’t remember. “Undo change chorus depth” or “Undo change track volume” would be much better.

How are you using Renoise?
@tutu10 wrote:
I’ve been experimenting a lot lately using song mode with the MNM and MD, running the sequencers at different speeds using tempo multipliers, and chopping up patterns with song mode to create fills and variations. I love the results, but it can be tedious work, as pattern changes don’t always line up and I often have to start playback from the beginning to ensure I’ve got the timing down.
Thus, I’ve been thinking a lot more about using Renoise, after being an Ableton user for years. I’ve never really used trackers, but find Song Mode inspiring and easy to use, and am hoping that using a full tracker might help with editing and arranging. Does anyone use both? If so, do you sequence from Renoise, or just chop the audio up in it? I’d hate to lose the Elektron sequencing, but maybe there are advantages to sequencing in Renoise?

VST plugins selection using directory structure
@telengard wrote:
I found a post from 2004 about this, doesn’t seem possible with 3.1.
I’ d like to have the layout of my VSTs be shown in the Track DSP window, rather than by Vendor. In other words, show the director structure of my VST folders.
This was the thread…
Vst Effects Sorted By Directory Structure Ideas & suggestions U are so sweet taktik. [:lol:] As I see it there is much more flexibility in the latter option, although the first is not bad either. In effects case I propably still would favour the last one. I’ll propably make some favourites folder or smthing and then sort all others by manufactor, or sumthing like that. Others?Posts: 1

Split note columns into seperate tracks?
@Sparky wrote:
Is there a way (perhaps with a script?) that I can split a multiple note column track into seperate tracks with duplicated VST instances?
For example, lets say that I have 5 note columns using a string ensemble VST. Bad planning on my part, but I would now like to split the 5 note columns into seperate tracks. This will allow me to individually pan all of the strings across the field.
I used to make the same mistake when editing drums too - I would have one instance of EZDrummer in one track but now I’m a bit wiser and I split kick, snare and hi-hats into 3 tracks.

East West Play_vst.dll not initializing now + random crash issues with it
@infamousuk wrote:
Hi people,
I have two problems
problem one was the play vst would just crash whenever i tried to navigate around in it, sometimes it would work fine but anything with any level of complexity would make my computer hang and then the only way to get out of it would be to hard reset.
problem 2 is after problem 1 i have now gotten an error with the play vst saying it can’t initialize.
I have tried uninstalling the vst
uninstalled renoise
cleared out the registry entries for the vsti
and it just won’t work now - which is a bit annoying.
I have tried rescanning as well and that has not helped - nothing seems to be working so i am turning to you lovely people for some help.
I am using windows 10
intel i7-8750h
8gb memory
hope someone can put me out of my misery.

So all the user uploaded content is gone, or...?
@mholloway wrote:
I’m trying to find my way around the new webpages / forum. It seems all the pages for uploaded user content (presets, instruments, songs, etc) is just gone now? That was one of my favorite parts of this place, a location to share devices and instruments, etc… am I just missing where it’s located now?
thanks,

Undo removes a VST
@midierror wrote:
Working with things like NI Kontakt, I’ve often pressed Command-Z to undo a change in Kontakt…which isn’t a recognised command… so it undoes the last renoise command, which was to load an instrument.
This just happened and I lost a sampler patch I was working on completely.
Maybe if undo is going to remove an instrument like this it would be useful to have a pop-up to say “are you sure you want to remove this instrument?”

... Matane! [kawaii bass]
@Fabrice wrote:
I continue my explorations in ‘EDM/Kawaii Bass’ with this track who simply start with the sound of shamisen notes.
I have to admit that was not simple to mix for me because I have used a lot a tracks and columns in the patterns (15 tracks but a lot of columns because of the chords), and on a laptop !
