FREE Tube Screamer Distortion & Tomato Tube Preamp AU/VST
@trueschool wrote:
Hi All,
I just discovered this excellent free emulation of the legendary Ibanez Tube Screamer, and from the same devs, the Tomato tube emulation preamp for acoustic instruments.
Both are great in different ways for adding subtle saturation, warmth, and fatness to all kinds of signals. There are several other interesting free emulators there that are geared towards metal guitarists, but they could be well used to add some nice edge to whatever you’re playing. Check it out…

Good ideas for note-off layer in keyzones?

What would you normally place there…are there any more unusual usages?

Arturia Keylab MK2 49, Tool for "TRANSPORTS" buttons (MCU/HUI protocols)
@Raul wrote:
I have an Arturia Keylab MK2 49 MIDI controller keyboard in my possession. The keyboard is fine, but apparently, the Transports buttons only work with MCU / HUI protocols . That is, they can not be mapped like the other controls through the MIDI input. What a disappointment I have taken with this matter!!!
I have seen that some user has been able to operate these buttons for Duplex, or something similar.
My intention is to gather the necessary information to operate these buttons with a basic LUA tool, which only makes these transport buttons work. The transport buttons are:
From left to right:
- Previous Track.
- Next Track.
- Stop song.
- Play song (from the first line of the current pattern).
- Enable/disable Edit Mode for pattern editor.
- Enable/disable current pattern.
Maybe it is even possible to make a small window to assign each button to different configurations. For example,
- Previous Track or Previous Pattern Sequence.
- Next Track or Next Pattern Sequence.
…
If in the end I manage to create the tool, I will publish it here so that anyone can use it. The objective is to make it as simple as possible, without the need to use Duplex. Make it a simple tool made on purpose.
Does anyone have information on how the tool should be focused? As I understand it, with an LUA file and another additional XML could be built. But I still do not understand how MCU / HUI protocols works with Renoise.
Probably I just need the necessary instructions so that the tool understands that she is using this keyboard model and that she detects the pulsation of one of these Transport buttons.
Note 1: In DAW mode, there are two generic modes:
- DAW Mapping “Standard MCU”
- DAW Mapping “Standard HUI”
- and other DAW modes specific to the rest of DAWs: Live, Logic, Pro Tools, Cubase, Studio One, Reaper (neither is it for FL Studio or Renoise)…
Note 2 The transport buttons always work with these MCU / HUI protocols, regardless of the mode used, for “ANALOG LAB”, “DAW” or “USER”.
Note 3: it is exactly the same case as for the Arturia Keylab MK2 61 keyboard.
Can anyone help here?

Is it possible to make Renoise fully support non session manager with lua?
@marbangens wrote:
Okej non session manager runs on linux and uses OSC to communicate with the programs. The programs need to be patched to support this. But can we support this with lua?

New Tool (3.1.1): AKAI Fire Integration
@arigy wrote:
AKAI Fire Integration for Renoise 3.1This tool allows to use AKAI Fire FL Studio controller with Renoise tracker. It packs quite a lot of no-nonsense Renoise features to be available at your fingertips. Note: I made it for myself, so it may or may not suit your tracking style
Limitations-
Navigation in multiples of 16 steps
-
No support for OLED display
-
No support for multiple AKAI Fire controllers
-
Something else I forgot
-
Mode LEDs show beat position in binary format: CHANNEL toggles every beat, MIXER toggles every two beats, USER 1 - every 8 beats and USER 2 - every 16 beats.
-
Pad color in Note mode (or in Drum mode with STEP held) represents note (12 semitones of octave mapped to a hue); active notes (not stopped by note-offs) are showed in a dim color
-
Pad color in Drum mode represents track color
-
Pad color in Performance mode represents track/slot color; muted slots are showed in a dim color
-
Tapping pad in Drum mode captures the nearest note/instrument before of after tapped position
-
Both live loop recording and stepped recording are supported (set step size with STEP+⟲/⟳ SELECT and use STEP/SHIFT+STEP to skip steps)

Dua Lipa - 'Be The One' - House Remix
@Rhythmersion wrote:
Here’s my latest creation… again it’s a vocal house track using a female acapella …
The acapella came from acapellas4u, a pretty decent one with no background audio. There is a mixed bag on there, some gems but some not so great.
As ever this was completely compiled using Renoise, with a mix of VST’s and samples.
Hope you enjoy and thanks in advance if you do have a listen

A gentle reminder to FINISH your songs!

I see this every day on the way to work and I always think of how important it is to FINISH your songs, not just keep endlessly twiddling on beats.
I plan to frame this and put it up in my studio as a reminder to stop fussing and get my music out into the world - hope it helps you do the same…

Redux Why is shuffle deactivated initially in keymap-mode for phrases?
@RachmanEnough wrote:
Hi,
sorry if the question was answered already. I am overwhelmed by the complexity of the new forum capabilities. My question is, why in Redux, when I choose keymap as mapping mode are the shuffle and other options deactivated. See image :
Thanks and sorry, if the question has been answered already.

Akaizer will not successfully procecess a sample
@JungleCurry wrote:
Hi Guys,
Sorry if this has already been covered, searched everywhere but couldn’t find a solution or one that made sense to me.
Every time I try to process a sample I get the error message below.
Can someone help me? I want to know if I have properly installed/setup the wrapper.
I installed the GUI wrapper from http://the-akaizer-project.blogspot.com/ - Do I need to install anything else? Have tried to run the CLI edition but it doesn’t seem to be doing anything.
Am a complete newbie to Renoise and still working things out, so please excuse me if I’m making a silly mistake, which I’m sure I am.
Thanks!

WOOSH: Easy white noise risers/impacts (Instrument/Macros)
@EETTEE wrote:
I made an instrument with macros for white noise risers and hits. It also has wobble parameters, stereo, and the filter which makes the main sound. There are some empty spaces and I might use it to add a tonal or texture element to it so it is not just white noise. It’s useful for what it is, though, and it saves time.

Semi Orchestral theme
@Circe wrote:
Hi, I want to share a song created with orchestral instruments. Using of course… RENOISE
Start with strings in stacatto and finish more kindly with quiet pads.
I hope you like it, I do not like to say that it is incomplete, but it is true, many parts of the song are improvable and can be altered.
Please … an opinion on her criticize please.
Thank you!!!

Trimming multiple samples by the same amount
@Jezbian wrote:
I have imported multiple stem wavs into separate instruments. Each of them has the same period of silence at the start and I want to trim the same amount from each sample in a reliable way (ie, without having to manually select the area by using the mouse). If batch trimming is possible too, this would be fantastic.
