Has anyone managed to get this working in Ubuntu cause i cant ?I have the kx repos installed wineasio, registered it but i get no inputs and outputs in cadence/jack.I am part of the audio group also use real time priority but nothing.

Is renoise still not Catalina compatible?

I recently updated to Catalina, and Renoise is no longer working correctly: all the graphics of the UI are slow now. Just scrolling with arrow keys in the pattern editor is slow, so I can’t even get normal visual ‘playback’ in the sequencer. There’s like a short lag for just scrolling line by line!

Is this known behavior re: Catalina, or just something on my system? I had to reinstall Ableton after the update, but it’s fine now… ooof.

Linux vst is starting to come out and at a discount.
I just bought sigma, rvxx and aural verb.
I’m excited. Duality bass studio will be my next one
as a linux user i hope it will be better on the vst scene.

I know how to add custom OSC handlers via GlobalOscActions. I would like to add a custom action via a tool. I took a stab at simply mimicking the code used to do this in GlobalOscActions but it did not work.

Is this even possible?

If it’s possible, does anyone have any pointers (or working code they can share)?

Hello,

Some time ago I installed the demo version of Redux. I just realized that I still have it on my PC, but there is no way to uninstall it via conventional methods. Do I just delete the .dll?

Yeah as I said, I j have heard all these songs too many times to discern a tracklist or vibe. There’s a couple things I’m p sure it might be missing but don’t wanna take it too far in a weird direction or over produce. Don’t wanna just link cause it’ll seem like promo and idk what’s done or not but it’s inspired by FFF, Sully, Nasenbluten and Tieum. Hopefully this is common enough to have some interest as my other friends who make stuff ask me similar things but I feel they have also heard these songs too much. Feel free to DM if you’d prefer, I would have used discord but I don’t check my phone enough and might ghost someone in a similar position who’s down or get buried, thanks for your time even if ur not down

I’d like Renoise to only transmit MIDI clock while it is actually playing/recording. Currently it transmits it all the time continuously. This is a problem when using external hardware such as analogue sequencers, as they will just run all the time they are receiving a clock. Most analogue sequencers don’t have any way of making use of the start/stop messages that are sent.

I can’t understand why its transmitted continuously, I can’t think of any uses that require that.

Hi,

I’m all new to phrases. Anyway, I created four phrases with some different drum beats where phrase 1 is the main beat and the other phrases are drum fills.

In the pattern editor I have phrase 1 playing on track 1 and when I added some of the other phrases to track 2 the phrase in track 1 stops playing.

When the F-400 in track 2 starts playing the C-400 in track 1 “dies”.

Should I not use phrases like this or is there some setting I’m missing?

Hi guys,
I tried to time stretch/warp samples and, from what I found, the only way to do this is to transpose the sample and thus to repitch it.
Is there any chance to change the stretch mode in the version 2.8? Like in Ableton or smth like this?

I’m trying to get the filter to sound like a synth, where the envelope opens the filter even when it is at 0% and the sustain is full at 100%. This is a bit tricky to achieve because there are so many modulation options (+, -, *, /, bipolar, unipolar, fader, envelope, ahdsr). + mod kinda achieves this but doesn’t sound quite right as you increase the cutoff. I think a + fader and a * envelope would replicate the behaviour of synthesizers better, but I don’t know. How do you achieve this?

EDIT: PLEASE WAIT, I just figured out 1 or 2 blank lines isn’t enough to fix this issue now… what on earth is going on here… I’ll try investigate more

If you’re an long time user you likely already know what this is about from reading the headline and have probably experienced it too, in that case just skip to last paragraph for a suggestion to this problem.

Here’s the thing, I thought my mixing had turned a serious wrong turn on song, I couldn’t figure out why and what but it turns out Renoise suddenly started consistently not rendering out a subtle bassy synth (Spire1.1.17-x64) i had playing from the first line. It’s a subtle sound so it eluded me for a long time but the song sounded off and I couldn’t figure out what was wrong, out of frustration I booted up two versions of Renoise, loaded old and new versions of the song in each and figure it out one by one because I knew the render of the old was correct… so yeah eventually I figured it out and for some reason Renoise has stopped rendering out the first note of that track. Many of you would probably have spotted that the bassy synth was missing but I am getting too old to notice that or something like that

This issue has been happening forever with different synth plugins, it can be fixed it seems if you insert an empty one line pattern as the first thing, that’s a bloated hack though but something we will have to do to make it render out properly.

So I wonder if the bug can’t be found and fixed then how about Renoise insert such blank 1-line pattern in the background before rendering and then strip the silence from the rendered WAV, may that solve it?
