Hey community, so far this has been my third song on Renoise, (excluding the unfinished stuff i made in the demo) so I’ve been getting more and more familiar with the program and I’ve been having fun.

I went for a more slower tempo here, and that’s pretty much the only idea i had coming into this one.

As always, any and all feedback is welcome, mixing, composition, I’ve don’t really have any particular aspect i want to improve, so i’m just trying to improve on everything at the moment. Thanks for taking the time to listen, and i hope you enjoy.

I have contacted Bitwig support, and they’re saying that it’s Redux’s fault, and that I should contact Renoise developers. However, here:

Bitwig 3.2 and Redux - keyboard shortcuts/hotkeys Help, Support & Bugs New Redux user here, really great tool! I’m having trouble trying to figure a way to pass control to Redux’s keyboard shortcuts when hosted in Bitwig. Can anybody point me in the right direction to make this happen? Running on Manjaro Linux. Thanks, ancodia

It appears that people are saying this is Bitwig’s issue. What’s the deal?

Sound design and grooves created in the Digitakt; arranged, mixed and mastered Renoise.

Liking this workflow of sketching out a few patterns in the Digitakt and then recording them as samples into Renoise to then develop into a full song.

I usually put out house and disco edits but have been getting into darker sounds more recently. Would appreciate any feedback

Hi…!

Just curious about if there are any other people lurking in here who practise meditation.

I myself practise tranquility/breath and walking meditation daily since a while, and find great benefit in it. Especially because I have to deal with psychic problems, and meditation seems to bring to me great relief and extra strength to deal with the pain. It took quite a while until it helped though, and teaching myself wasn’t always effective and brought me to many wrong tracks in the beginning…but I am very glad I kept going with it and went through the initial frustration, until it started effecting the mind in positive ways and became pleasurable.

I think meditation, if done right, is a simple and natural technique to enable the mind to train and cleanse itself. It can bring great changes to the personality and the way the mind works. It can make you very calm and patient, strengthen awareness and attention, make you less distracted, reduce “junk” going on in the mind and make you deal with it more effectively, enables you to deal with problems or negativity in better ways, bring strength to control your behaviour in positive ways and change your personality to the better, make you deal with other people in more controlled, effective ways, relief stress and regenerate body and mind, enables you to deal with and even heal problematic patterns in your psyche, …

Also I personally find it becomes a very pleasurable, relaxing experience once you reach deeper levels. There is peace to be found in the inside after all, and that peace can radiate into your daily life if you foster it well… It might also bring you to pain and push you through it at times, but I think often this will on the other side have the effect of making you more tolerant to stress and enabling you to control difficult situations in more effective ways.

Of course it isn’t all that easy. You will need to go through quite some pain and frustration until the more serious techniques will show effect. Every human has a unique mind, so the experiences may vary greatly, some reach deep levels after some weeks, some need many years of hard work for the same job. Also I think with advanced techniques it is important to make sure your ethics/morality is set up the right way, because you will be confronted with yourself and the reality if you look inside, and negative patterns in thought will have to be mitigated, else they might keep you from progress and make your sessions unpleasant. Not all possible experiences are desirable, and learning about the mind can also be a very humbling, if not humiliating, experience. Some people might be confronted with very negative things, up to the point where the practice can become harmful for them, so it is best to have a good teacher or other good source of detailed information on potential problems, so that problems can be handled in the right ways, and not cause too much pain…

So how are you going with it? Any experiences to share, and which techniques are you using to train the mind? Or also negative experiences?

Phrases are nice for some extra FX oomph but when it comes to autoseek and looping (specifically single line holds), I’m expecting the loop to hold even with note-off. It doesn’t.

(gif is small, gotta right click and view it to see in glorious “1080P”)

I would like to see something like a note-off loop that accommodates situations where the modulation has a release. That or maybe I’m dumb and haven’t seen how looping can be done in phrases.

I am not even going to apologize for linking such a loopy track. I will say this, for what its worth, “this beat has some pretty cool pattern command work.”

Btw, there are vocals in this, I think you have to listen to 8 or 16 bars before you hear the first vocals.

I am considering ie thinking about, “maybe, maybe,” making a house track. Basically this track, and what is on my SoundCloud, is my continued experimentation with pop beats.

This track is 99.999% Renoise. I dropped a 24 bit render into Cubase to maximize the volume, and dither down to 16 bit… Other than that “pure Renoise.”

Which is why I am not sorry it is so loopy lol, I know it just goes around and around in circles.

Oh that arpeggiated bassline, is a synth rendered to sample…

You can see tail of stdout which just spams with line:

• i think this is the reason why Mixbus gets frozen. You can replicate this issue anytime

Hey I’m new to Renoise and I have kind of a noob question. So, I have loaded a bunch of 909 Kicks, some 909 snares, some 808 kicks and snares into the instrument section at the top right. One time when I selected multiple samples, kicks I believe, and pulled them into the instruments section it worked and created a multisampled instrument on the left side and mapped them across the keyboard. But, with the samples that I loaded into the instrument section 1 by 1 are being considered completely separate instruments, which makes sense and I understand. But, how do I take multiple instruments, let’s say some 909 snares which I pulled in individually, and group them in the way that it did when I pulled them in as a group? Basically I want to combine samples in the instrument selector into a multisampled instrument in the left column. Is there a way to make a new sample in the left column, call it 909 snares or something, and drag in the 909 samples from the instrument column and have them mapped into one instrument instead of 5 or 6 individual instruments in the instrument column?

It’d be really great if render to sample would render 2 bars of the selection and take the second bar, so that synth and effect tails are included in a loop.

Hi. I’m having some problems with the Kontakt Player GUI in Renoise 3.2. The window that contains the plugin seems to be smaller than it should so that it doesn’t show all of its elements: the content doesn’t fit inside. So, for example, if I want to remove a loaded instrument from the rack, I can’t, because the cross I have to click is outside the area I can see.

If I click in the minimize/maximize icon a couple of times, this is corrected, but only until I do something else that causes the GUI to refresh. Also, sometimes the GUI does some weird things (overlapping of images, for instance). I thought this was a problem with the Kontakt Player, but then made a test in Renoise 3.1 to see what happened, and in Renoise 3.1 it works fine. Maybe there’s a GUI setting to take care of these things that I’m not aware of.

I’ve wanted to give my 2 cents regarding some native devices and how would i see their improvement

EQ/STEREO EXPANDER > SPECTRUM/PHASE SCOPE

0.1 . Integrate eq and stereo expander into the existing frequency spectrum? select eq, and on top you have ready eq to mangle with? (somewhat odd but it came to my mind since there is already spectrum…)
The displayed parameters should be for the selected channel - and there should be option to toggle this on/off also

0.0.1. Implement Stereo expander in the “phase scope” view by adding a one slider/knob like shown:

1. Maximize eq window by clicking a dedicated/detach button? (or like previous idea, just integrate it into spectrum)

2. Eq could reside in separate tab (or something similar), since there are 5 tabs, and the rest of the screen sits empty - i think this should be populated with useful stuff which we use most ofen.
   

COMPRESSORs

1. add 2 sliders (or knobs) for sidechain relax of frequency to both devices (maximizer and distortion could benefit also) (The gate device already have these options!)
   

sorry i’m not visual artist, nor i’ve planned this post, but it came rather like instant idea, i will add items here as i encounter some ideas.
I think that the improvement of native devices could contribute a lot to the whole community

hello,
i cant setup Trigger Finger PRO device with renoise.
I set pad button to note C2 in pad button prefs
and in MIDI section of Renoise i see on virtual keyboard note C3
and in message window C4 ?

Same problem with M-Audio Axiom keyboard.
Any solution how to set up ?

Hello! I found out that the Plugin Grabber in Renoise is great to render sounds from VST to samples which makes me easier to use those instruments and even get access to MIDI Polyphonic expression. But I have one problem here, the VST’s copyright. Some time, I thought of rendering a Kontakt or Spitfire orchestral library to samples and share the sampled-based instruments with anybody but I’m so worried to do that because I might get involved with the copyright infringement.

Hello people.
The other day I found that you can render into the sampler the effect chain each sample is using.
If you press the button (it is down in the sampler window, next to the “remove dc offset”, “silence”, “fade in”, “fade out”, it renders the sample.
What I want to ask is is there any way to make the sample render the tail of the effect chain as well?
The sample size won’t change, so I have to insert a silent period to the end of the sampler in order to get the effect tail?
