Hi,

I have a Virus TI and a Roland MKS50 (midi hardware synth) which I want to sequence.

When I sequence the mks50 via midi, everything seems in sync.

When I then open up the Virus Control Plugin, the midi latency to the MKS50 goes way out of hand, the Virus stays on tick though.

I’ve tried all the standard stuff (i’m a seasoned midi user), other buffersizes, multiple midi ouputs cards, setting static buffers on and off but nothing works. Futhermore I have a brand new audient evo 4 card, and a computer that has enough cpu cylces and memory, so everything should work perfectly.`

When I test the same setup in Ableton, there are no problems at all. But when I work in Ableton, i can’t get any music out of my hands, it’s terrible man

Why is it that loading the virus control plugin breaks my midi output? Is it a PDC problem?

I hope you can help me.

(PS I want to use the plugin, so I can use the usb outputs of the virus. When I connect the virus only over midi, I can only use the hardware outputs and I have only 2 inputs on my audient card, which I need for my MKS.)

Dear Taktik

Could you please make it so that when clicking the Midi Box/Note Light in the Instrument Selector that it will mute the Instrument (Box would crossed out with an X).

I find this much more useful than muting tracks also read a long time ago that you where already considering implementing this.

An aditional button to be put underneath the pre-hear sample toggle and can be used together with it.

Simply chooses a random sample in the current selected folder. Just keep clicking until you find one you want to load.

I made a script for linux renoise users that lets you play notes with PC keyboard while focused on a plugin window Tips & Tricks Hi! I was always annoyed that in linux renoise version you have to always change focus from a plugin window to DAW window if you want to play a few notes and see how it sounds. So I made a very simple script that uses xdotool to solve this issue. It basically waits for focus change events and as soon as one happens, it switches focus back to the renoise window. I ve tested uhe zebra and helm and they dont synch when jack is used they run fine in alsa.Its probably my settings in jack but i dont know what to do here are the settings from jack

I love the sound of the DX100 but I could only find one drum samplepack.

Does anyone know of any others?

I was impressed by midierror’s Vermona and Polivox drum samplepacks and I saw he had built a tool in renoise specifically for controlling the parameters of the DX100 so I was hoping he would make a DX100 drum sample pack.

DX100 coarse FM sound is good for drums in my opinion.
I dont know how it is for drum sound design, whether it has short exponential envelopes or anything like that…maybe to make good drums with it, it would mean chopping up LFO stuff or adding envelopes to long sounds made on DX100 in renoise later.

Anyway I hope to hear the DX100’s capabilities for drums so if anyone knows of a good DX100 drum samplepack please let me know and if there are none then I would like to request one if anyone wants to / is interested in doing one…I may end up buying one, not sure yet…about 400 euro…its quite a lot to drop on an old keyboard like that…good sound though. peace out

Example: LFO on left controls Attack of the AHDSR on the right which is a simple trick to humanize drum samples.

Currently you’ve got to go round the houses to do this:

• Assign Attack to a macro (and don’t forget to type in the macro name!)
• Go back to pattern DSP lane
• Load up macro device
• Load up LFO and route to macro device

Seems clunky for something very simple + you could get more creative in the modulation lane generally.

Clunky = enemy of creativity!

I know that converting 1 sample rate to the next sample rate, is not the world’s happiest thing to do. But when you have a sample that is 16, and 44,100 and you convert it 24 bit at 48,000 would you expect to create an audible distortion, or degradation in the sound quality?

Hi,
I’m from Goa - India, I’m a Dj and producer in profession. I love jamming n playing live on the Tr8, since yesterday Unfortunately My Roland Tr8 isn’t functioning as normal, The thing is when I try to sequence a beat I am unable to sequence on 4, 8, 12 and 16 for all drum sounds, this never happened before. It’s really frustrating.

Hi,

Can I launch Renoise without it scanning through my VST folder? It gets stuck and stops responding before it has launched.

Came along an old thread from '06 that said that “next version will take care of this” and I didn’t find anything else.
