How do I install Renoise on a Mac?

  1. Download Renoise for MacOS.
  2. If not done automatically, extract the archive.
  3. Move Renoise or Renoise_Reg to the application folder. Rename if you like.
  4. Optionally, drop the Renoise icon from the application folder into the dock.
  5. When starting Renoise for the first time, you will be prompted to install the ReWire Eengine. Enter the Mac's Administrator's password.
  6. To enable AU plugins, open the Preferences panel in Renoise and enable the AU Plugins checkbox. AU plugin files are installed under /Library/Audio/Plug-ins/Components/. In Renoise they will pop up in either the Track DSPs or the Instrument Settings tab. Same goes for VSTs, but note that VSTs for Windows can not be used on MacOS.
